Misfire

When the engine failures unstable idling, does not develop sufficient power, increased consumption of gasoline. In addition, the possible failure of the catalytic converter. Interruptions usually explained nozzles malfunction or elektrobenzonasosa (cm. "The power supply system of the engine"), spark plugs of one of the cylinders, the suction air in one of the cylinders. We need to find the problem and possibly fix it.
1. Start the engine and let it run at idle. Go to the exhaust pipe and listen to the sound of the exhaust. You can bring a hand to the outlet of the exhaust pipe - so shortages are felt better. The sound should be smooth, "soft", one tone. Cotton from the exhaust pipe at regular intervals indicate that one cylinder is not working because of the failure of the spark, no spark to it, refuse the nozzle of a strong air leaks on one cylinder, or a significant reduction in compression in it. Claps at irregular intervals occur due to contamination of spray nozzles, excessive wear or contamination of the spark plugs. If popping occurs at irregular intervals, you can try on their own to replace the entire set of candles, regardless of their appearance and run, but it is better to do so after the treatment in auto repair for the diagnosis and repair of engine management systems.
2. If the regular claps, stop the engine and open the hood. Check the condition of the wires of the ignition system. Isolation of high-voltage cables should not be damaged, and their tips are not to be oxidized. If the wires are damaged, replace the faulty cable.

HELPFUL ADVICE
The most simple and yet efficient way of testing high voltage cables - checking in the dark. Put the car in the dark, start the engine and open the hood. Examine the high-voltage wires. If broken wire insulation, you will see the characteristic sparkling blue-violet ("northern lights"). In this case, high-voltage wires require mandatory replacement.

3. Remove the spark plug (see. "Replacement and service of spark plugs").

A WARNING
When removing the tip of high-voltage wires never pull the cord. Grasp directly behind the tip, and then, turning it from side to side, pull.

4. Inspect the spark and compare their appearance with by the following pictures. If the candle black and wet, it can be discarded.
5. If all the candles look serviceable, set them in place and connect the high-voltage wires. Operating procedure of cylinders 1-3-4-2; numbering cylinders (1, 2, 3, 4 minutes) is conducted from the engine crankshaft pulley.
6. Take a spare candle. Either way fix it on the engine. Connect the high-voltage wire of 1st cylinder to spare candle. Start up the engine. If the engine is not increased faults, replace the spark plug in the 1st cylinder known good. Put on high-voltage wire and start up the engine. If outages have increased consistently repeat this procedure with all of the cylinders to identify the faulty candle.

WARNINGS
Reliable candle body contact with "weight" is required, since the appearance of an additional spark gap (larger than the gap between the electrodes of the plug) may damage the engine control unit or the high voltage circuit of the ignition coil.
The above test, try to spend the shortest possible time after prolonged entry of unburned fuel in the exhaust gas catalytic converter it may fail due to overheating because gasoline will burn in it.

If as a result of the measures taken the engine interruption persists, check the compression of each cylinder (see. "Check cylinder compression"). Normal compression - more than 1.0 MPa (10 kgf / cm 2), the difference of more than 0.1 MPa (1 kg / cm 2) in one cylinder indicates the need to repair the engine.
