Replace the exhaust manifold gaskets

Between the flanges of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold gasket set made of compressed asbestos sheet, reinforced with steel. When tightness of the gasket breakout occurs outside the exhaust gas, accompanied by a characteristic sharp sound (Collector "flogs"). If you can not correct the problem by tightening the mounting of the exhaust manifold, replace the gasket.
You will need to face head "12".

NOTE
When replacing the exhaust manifold gasket You can not disconnect from a collector a reception pipe flange. Enough unscrewing nuts collector, remove it from the cylinder head studs and pull away from the head as much flexibility allows the exhaust system. Through the resulting gap can be removed manifold gasket.

Sequence of loosening the nuts securing the exhaust manifold
Fig. 5.6. Sequence of loosening the nuts securing the exhaust manifold

1. Remove termoekran exhaust manifold (see. "Removing and installing Thermoscreens").
2. Remove the eight nuts the exhaust manifold in the sequence shown in Fig. 5.6.
3. Remove from the exhaust manifold studs ...
4. ... and installed underneath the pad.
5. Thoroughly clean the gasket surface of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold from the remnants of old gasket and carbon deposits.
6. Install a new gasket and all the removed parts in reverse order of removal.
7. Nuts tighten the exhaust manifold in the reverse order shown in Fig. 5.6, the moment given in Annex 1.

HELPFUL ADVICE
To prevent burning pads and to improve its sealing is recommended before installing the gasket grease it on both sides of a thin layer of graphite grease.
