Replacement and adjustment of the belt tension rivoda timing and replacing it with a tension roller

According to the manufacturer's recommendations timing belt should be replaced after 60 thousand. Km or every 6 years of operation (whichever comes first). Also, replace the camshaft drive belt, if during the inspection, you will find:
- Any traces of oil on the surface of the belt;
- Signs of wear gear surface, cracks, undercuts, folds and detachment of the fabric from rubber;
- Cracks, creases, recesses or protuberances on the outer surface of the belt;
- Razlohmachivanie or bundle on the end face of the belt.

A WARNING
Belt with traces of engine oil on any surface it is necessary to replace, as the oil is rapidly destroying the tires. The reason for getting oil on the belt (usually a violation of the tightness seals crankshaft and camshafts) should be eliminated immediately.

NOTE
Work carried out on a pit, trestle or possibly on the lift.

You will need: a socket wrench "10" ring spanners or socket head "12", "17" key "24" Allen key "5", sliding clamps, flat-blade screwdriver, sealant.
1. Remove the alternator drive belt and the power steering pump (see. "Replacing the alternator drive belt and the power steering pump") and C compressor drive belt (see. "Replacement of the air conditioning compressor drive belt").
2. In order to facilitate access Remove the air filter (see. "Removing and installing the air filter, intake silencer and air").
3. Remove the right front wheel.
4. Establish the piston of 1st cylinder TDC compression stroke (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke").
5. Remove the bolt crankshaft pulley ...
6. ... and remove the pulley.

HELPFUL ADVICE
Bolt crankshaft pulley tightened very big moment. In order to secure the crankshaft against rotation, turn on V transfer and press the brake pedal (it should make assistant).

7. Remove the three screws on the bottom timing cover ...
8. ... and remove the cover.
9. Remove the power steering pump (see. "Replacing the power steering pump").
10. Remove the cylinder head cover (see. "Replacing the cover gasket cylinder head").
11. Loosen the belt tension, for which the screwdriver against the force of the spring, turn it clockwise to the travel bar roller until the alignment holes in it and the roller bracket, then insert a pin into the holes of suitable diameter, thereby fixing roller.
12. Remove the belt from the crankshaft pulley with tensioning pulley and the water pump pulley and camshaft.
13. To replace the tensioner roller turn out a bolt of its fastening to the engine block ...
14. ... and remove the clip.

NOTE
If you are disassembling the drive timing for the replacement of only the tension roller drive belt can be worn.

15. Install the roller in reverse order, after fixing his beard (see. P. 11).
16. Check coincidence of adjusting labels crankshaft and camshafts (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke").
17. Put the toothed belt on the crankshaft pulley. The back belt is rewound for the tension roller and consistently pulling the front leg, put the belt on the camshaft pulley and the water pump.

Driving control tension the timing belt
Fig. 4.7. Driving control tension the timing belt: a - position of the tensioner when adjusting belt tension; b - the position of the tensioner in the control of coincidence timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft; 1 - an arm of the tension wheel; 2 - mobile strap tensioner; 3 - tensioner pulley; 4 - the timing belt; A - mounting hole tensioner

18. Screw in the end of the crankshaft pulley bolt for a bolt and turn the crankshaft two turns. Check coincidence of timing marks of the crankshaft and camshaft. When you re-install the belt does not match.
19. Remove the barbs of the holes in the bracket and the movable strips, then turn the crankshaft two turns. If the pointer on the moving strip 2 (Fig. 4.7) of the tensioning roller coincides with a slot on the bracket 1, a belt will pull correctly.
20. If the pointer on the moving strip does not match the slot on the bracket, loosen the two screws securing the bottom of the water pump ...
21. ... and one on top.

NOTE
So there are three screws that secure the water pump.

22. Adjust the belt tension by turning the water pump housing by turning it clockwise and controlling the tension of the belt for signs of a tension roller.
23. If the belt tension is adjusted by turning the body of water pump Check for leaks from the water pump housing. If necessary, replace the O-ring (see. "Replacement of the water pump").
24. Install the parts in reverse order of removal.
25. Adjust the tension of the air conditioning compressor belt (see. "Check and adjust the belt tension C compressor drive") and the alternator drive belt and the power steering pump (see. "Check and adjust belt drive alternator and power steering pump").
