general information

Transmission converts the torque transmitted from the engine in magnitude and direction. This is necessary for optimal vehicle speed and terrain, as well as for the most economical operation of the engine and the vehicle is moving in reverse. In addition, the transmission separates the engine and transmission during a stop and parking lot, and when it is coasting with the engine running.
Items placed in the transmission housing, which bolt is screwed to the rear of the engine.

The torque from the engine is transmitted through the clutch to the transmission input shaft. The output shaft of the gearbox transmits torque through the differential to the drive shafts. Enabling is performed by moving the sliding sleeve of the synchronizer, whereby the gear is rigidly connected to the shaft of a transmission.

The transmission represents very difficult unit and its repair should be performed by a specialized workshop, so in this chapter are only removing and installing the transmission.
To remove the gearbox is necessary to raise the car and secure it in this position. Also, you must use stationary jack.
