The hub of the rear wheel
Withdrawal
ATTENTION For vehicles with ABS speed sensor, remove the rear wheel. Be careful when removing the wheel speed sensor from the bracket to prevent damage to the probe tip of the pole teeth of its rotor or other details. |
Remove the disc brake caliper and hang it to the side with a wire. Remove the brake disc. Remove hub cap, unscrew the nut and remove the hub bearing retainer.
ATTENTION The bearing assembly of the hub of the rear wheel is not subject to removal. Be careful not to scratch or damage the teeth of the rotor wheel speed sensor. Do not drop the rotor. Chipping on the teeth of the rotor of the sensor, will result in deformation of the rotor and, consequently, to the impossible the correct determination of the wheel speed and the malfunction of the ABS system as a whole. |
Check Check the oil seal for cracks or damage. Check the wheel bearing for wear or damage. Check the chips on the teeth of the rotor wheel speed sensor. Check the rear wheel knuckle for cracks.
Setting
After tightening the flange nuts stake the nut on the edge of the recess of the shaft of the rear wheel knuckle (Fig. 3.152).
ATTENTION Replace the new nut flange after removal. |
For vehicles with ABS, set the speed sensor of the rear wheel. To do this, insert a flat lead into the gap between the pole piece wheel speed sensor and sensor rotor teeth. Fasten the sensor so that the gap between the pole piece and sensor rotor teeth (around the entire circumference) is within the rated value (Fig. 3.153). The nominal value of the gap: 0.2-1.3 mm. Install the wheel cover.
