Adjusting the alternator drive belt
ATTENTION Easing the tension leads to the emergence of a sound and rapid deterioration of slippage of the belt. Too much belt tension there is the possibility of breakage bearing coolant pump or generator. |
Loosen the nut "A" hinge generator and a lock bolt "B" adjusting lath of the generator. Turn the adjusting screw to adjust the tension and belt deflection to the nominal values. Tighten the lock bolt "B" adjusting lath of the generator. Tighten the nut "A" hinge generator. Check the tension or deflection of the belt and, if necessary readjust. Tightening torques: Nut "A" - 35-55 Nm; bolt "B" - 20-25 Nm; adjusting bolt - 8-12 Nm.
