Adjusting the longitudinal position of the front seats
To move the seat longitudinal position, pull the switch adjusting forward or backward. When released, the switch locks the seat in a comfortable position.
To tilt the seatback
To tilt the seatback, move the top part of the adjustment switch forward or backward. When the switch is released back locks in the new position (Fig. 1.151).
ATTENTION In order to reduce the risk of injury in a car accident (crash) or sudden stop when driving, the seat backs of the driver and front seat passenger should be in a position as close as possible to the vertical. The effectiveness of the protection of seat belts and airbags can be reduced significantly when the seat back is tilted. There is a strong likelihood that when the seat back is tilted, the driver and front passenger can slide out from under the belt that will cause serious injury in a collision of a vehicle during a traffic accident (crash). The seat belt can not provide full protection of the passenger when the seat is tilted back his. |
