Seat belt pretensioners

The car is equipped with seatbelt pre-tensioners for driver and front passenger. The appointment of such a belt is to ensure accurate fixing passenger in some cases in a frontal impact. The belt pretensioner can work separately or together with the airbags in a frontal impact of sufficient force.

When hard braking or sudden tilting of the passenger front seat belt latch work and fix the belt. Under some fairly strong frontal collisions triggered pretensioner and will pull strap for a secure fit of the passenger.

After triggering the pretensioner if the belt tension is too strong, the special force limiter tension loosen the belt.

NOTE

Seat belts with pretensioners driver and front passenger are activated in a frontal impact of sufficient force. Seat belt pretensioners may work alone or in conjunction with the airbags in a frontal impact of sufficient force. Seat belt pretensioners with any severe frontal impact, even if the seat belt is not fastened.

During operation Predna-tyazhiteley seatbelt allocated a small amount of smoke and there is a strong cotton. These phenomena are normal and not dangerous.

Despite the fact that the smoke is not toxic, it should not be inhaled as it may cause irritation, coughing or choking. After tripping pretensioners wash your face and hands.

ATTENTION

After turning the ignition switch ?�ON?� (?�On.") Control lamp additional system of passive safety SRS (airbags) flashes for about 6 seconds and then goes out. This is because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is included in the chain pretensioners.

This lamp also lights up when the safety belt pretensioners have a fault.
