Removing and installing transfer case



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props.
  3. Remove an introduction plate.
  4. Drain the oil from the transfer case and transmission (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector VSS. Remove assemblage of VSS / speedometer nozzle to prevent damaging it in the process of removing the box (Head Automatic transmission).
  6. Disconnect the shift lever from the stock transfer case shift lever (see. Illustration Components of draft of switching of a distributing box NR231 interfaced with Manual transmission, components of the transfer case shift rod NR231, mating with AT or components of the transfer case shift rod NR242 model 1993 Vol.).
  7. Disconnect all vacuum / air lines and electrical harnesses from the transfer case.
  8. Remove the components of the exhaust system in order to ensure access to the box and the necessary working space (Chapter power supply system and exhaust).
  9. Remove the drive shafts (Section Clutch and transmission line).
  10. Prop up transmission trolley jack (preferably specially equipped for this purpose - allow safety chains securely fasten the box on the jack).
  11. Give nuts to the transmission transfer case.
  12. Once again, make sure the box is disconnected from the line and all the wires, and then move the box with the jack back of the car until it separates from the transmission. During the procedure, try to keep the box in a horizontal position.
  13. After the input shaft be freed, lower transfer case and pull it out from under the car.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Securing the transfer case on the jack, as well as during removal, safety circuits, lift it at the loading position behind the transmission and gently start moving forward, introducing a primary shaft engaged with the output shaft of the transmission. Do not attempt to dock with the transmission power of the box. If the input shaft is not included in the transmission, try povarirovat tilt boxes and / or slightly rotating the shaft itself to align it with the mating splines in the transmission.
  2. Install the bolts to the transmission transfer case. Tighten them with demanded effort.
  3. Unplug the safety chains, remove the jack holding up the transfer case.
  4. Install drive shafts (Chapter Clutch and transmission line).
  5. Replace the components of the exhaust system (Head of the Power supply system and exhaust).
  6. Connect the vacuum / vent line.
  7. Attach the transfer case shift lever to the stem of the lever and make the adjustment rod (Section Adjusting shift rod).
  8. Install VSS / nozzle speedometer and connect the electrical connector (Head Automatic transmission).
  9. Check the oil level in a box, if necessary, make topping (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance). If the vehicle is equipped with a Manual transmission, at this stage, you should check the level of the transmission oil in it (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance).
  10. Remove the jacks and lower the car to the ground.
  11. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
  12. Spend the sea trials, ensure correct operation of all nodes. Check components for leaks.
