Checking the air pressure and condition of tires

13.3. Checking the air pressure and condition of tires

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check tire pressure at least once a month and before every long trip, it does not forget to measure the air pressure in the spare wheel.
2. The reduced or increased air pressure in the tires reduces their lifespan and impairs driving characteristics.
3. Too low tire pressure leads to increased fuel consumption.
4. On cars establish only radial tires.
5. The radial tire cords are arranged at the lower path between the tire beads. The belt surrounds a thin and elastic skeleton and provides stability of the tire.
6. The camera is replaced with tubeless tires vulcanized inside layer with high air impermeability. The board of such tires should be mounted on a disk rim reliably and tightly. No camera in the tire reduces weight of a wheel and simplifies its installation on the rim of the disc.
7. The air pressure in the tires should always be checked when tires are cold. With increased air pressure in the tires should not be heated to release air from the tire. When a significant change vehicle load should be changed accordingly air pressure in the tires.
8. To measure the tire pressure using a pressure gauge.
9. Check that there are no air leaks from the valve. Remove the cap from the valve. Coat the valve a little saliva. In the formation of the bubble tighten the valve cap back side.

A warning

To tighten the valve only use a metal cap.

10. Re-check valve. With further bubble formation and inability dovorachivaniya valve, replace the valve. Be sure to screw the cap.

11. Check the tread depth.

The depth of the tread:
Standard tires: 1.6 mm
Winter tires: 50% Tread

12. The tire should be replaced by the presence of deep cracks, damage, deformation or wear spotted. Pay attention to any signs of uneven wear of the tires.

Types and causes of wear of the tire tread

CAUSE
SOLUTION
SIDE treadwear
Insufficient tire pressure (two-sided tread wear) Check the tire pressure and restore to normal
Wrong disorder of forward wheels (one-sided tread wear) Repair or replace suspension parts
Cornering at high speed Drive at a moderate speed
CENTRAL PART OF TIRE WEAR
Increased pressure in the tire Check the tire pressure and restore to normal
CROSS CORNER WEAR
Improper wheel alignment Adjust toe
Uneven wear
Violation of the camber angle or longitudinal axis of rotation Repair or replace suspension parts
Abnormal operation of the front suspension Repair or replace suspension parts
Violation of balancing wheel Balance the wheel
Roundness of the wheel disk or a brake drum Pierce or replace the brake drum;
Repair or replace wheel drive
