Wheel balancing

On cars the balance the wheel. During operation of the vehicle under the influence of the various reasons balancing of wheels can be broken, which is manifested in the appearance of the vibration of the steering wheel.

The imbalance of the wheels leads to increased wear of steering parts, tires and suspension of the car, so the appearance of imbalances should be re-spend balancing of wheels. Vibration of the steering wheel from the imbalance of wheels is shown in a certain speed range and disappears while reducing or increasing velocity. In addition, wheel balancing is required after installing a new tire and after each tire repair.

Static wheel imbalance manifested in the fact that the weight of individual parts of the wheel relative to the axis has a different weight. Thus if the wheel is freely mounted on the rotary shaft, the wheel rotates such that the heavier portion of the wheel will always be at the bottom. Wheel with a static imbalance in the movement of the car can jump up that will lead to a rapid deterioration of the shock absorber.

The dynamic imbalance of the wheel is shown only at fast rotation of the wheel. If there is, the heavier portion of the wheel is located laterally with respect to median plane of the wheel and the wheel rotates, causing it to wobble, which leads to accelerated failure of the bearing hub and the suspension elements.

When unbalance or replacement tire wheel must be balanced.

The maximum weight of the counterweight 60 g

A warning

Do not use more than two counterweights on the inner or outer side of the wheel.

If the full weight of a counterbalance exceeds 100 grams, turn the tire on the disc and re-balancing.

Fastening of counterbalances carry out reliably, for an exception of their moving on a rim of a wheel disk.

For wheels with aluminum disks it is necessary to use special counterbalances.

Do not balance wheels mounted on a vehicle with automatic transmission as its damage is possible.
