Check and adjust handbrake



1. Pull the parking brake lever 2-W times.
2. Press the brake pedal 2-3 times.
3. Check the handbrake lever stroke. Slowly raise the lever all the way, considering an audible click.
Stroke lever - 4-7 clicks
1. Adjust the clearance between the brake pads and brake drum.
2. Start the engine. Press the brake pedal 2-3 times.
3. Stop the engine.

4. Remove the handbrake trim. Turn the adjusting nut the parking brake cable, adjust the course of his arm. After adjustment, tighten the adjusting nut (Fig. 1.176).
5. After the adjustment, make the following checks:
a) Turn the ignition switch to ?�ON?�, pull the parking brake lever just one click, make sure that the parking brake is applied;
b) make sure that the rear wheels turn freely when the parking brake is off.
If necessary, repeat the adjustment of the parking brake lever stroke.
6. Set the parking brake lever trim.
