Checking the oil level automatic transmission

Regularly check the fluid level automatic transmission. Verification carried out as follows.
The volume of the working fluid varies depending on the temperature. Check the fluid level when the engine is idling, and the normal temperature of the liquid.

ATTENTION
Insufficient fluid level causes slippage of the friction elements of automatic transmission. Too high a level of the liquid may cause intense foaming, loss of working fluid and disruption of the normal functioning of the automatic transmission.
Use only the recommended hydraulic fluid. The use of any non-recommended working fluid can disrupt the normal functioning and the failure of the automatic transmission.

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Start the engine and press the brake pedal.
3. Alternately set the range switch lever to all positions and then set it to "P" (parking).

4. During operation of the engine at idle, remove the dipstick controlling automatic transmission and wipe it dry. Then insert the dipstick. Again remove the control probe. The normal fluid level corresponds to a range between the marks on the control probe, see Fig. 1.175.
