Checking the rod end



Check the tie rod for cracks and damage to the protective sheath. Replace it if necessary.
Check the play in the ball joint. Replace the tie rods if necessary.
Turn the hinge pin five times.

Measure the drag torque ball joint, using a special device and load cell (Fig. 5.28).
Drag torque: 0,4-2,7 Nm.
Indications dynamometer: 3,4-25,5 N.
If the result is different from the specified, replace the tip.
