Checking the steering rod



Check the track rod for deformation and damage. Replace it if necessary.
Check the play in the ball joint. Replace the steering rod if necessary.
Rock the steering rod of five.

Measure the resistance point swing, using a dynamometer (Fig. 5.29).
Moment of resistance swing: 0,1-4,0 Nm.
Indications dynamometer: 0,6-24,5 N.
If the result is different from the specified, replace the rod.
