The principle of operation of the balancing unit

The principle of operation of the balancing unit
Fig. 2.12. The principle of operation of the balancing unit 1 - shim; 2 - the crankshaft; 3 - the front part of the engine; 4 - balancing the body block; 5 - counterweights; 6 - balancing shaft ?2; 7 - drive gear; 8 - balancer shaft driven gear ?1

Structurally, the balancing unit is mounted under the crankshaft has two balancing shaft and the housing-box into which they are placed. Using the balancing shaft and shims gap adjustment is performed in engagement with the crankshaft. Balancing shafts (? 1 and ? 2) driven by the crankshaft drive gear. Rotational motion is transmitted from the pinion gear, which is arranged between the third crank journal and the fourth cylinders, the balancer shaft directly to the number 1 to the driven gear. Balancing unit transmits rotation number balancer shaft 2. The gear ratio of the gear of the balancing shafts has been chosen so that the gear rotates twice as fast as the crankshaft. The speed of rotation of the balancing shaft balances the force of inertia of rotation (secondary inertial force of rotation) of the crankshaft. Balancing the unit is not disassemble or repair (Fig. 2.12).

Marking shims balancing unit
Fig. 2.13. Marking shims balancing block 1 - the cylinder block; 2 - identification mark (2 digits)

NOTE
To adjust the gap between the balancing block and crankshaft, replace the shim. There are 40 kinds of pads of different thicknesses. To determine the type of gasket, get labeled (2 digits) on the strip (Fig. 2.13).
