Adjusting the tension accessory drive belt
On some models, a later release is not installed tension roller to adjust the belt tension as the adjustment is performed by moving the generator or compressor.

Adjusting the speed of the crankshaft of the engine idling and quality of the fuel-air mixture (engines with PBT)
Apply the parking brake and set the gear lever to the neutral position.
Connect a tachometer to the engine and turn off all electrical consumers.
Start up the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature and then let it run at engine speed 2500 min -1 Z000 for 3 minutes.
Stop the engine and set the exhaust sensor device for analyzing exhaust gases.
Start up the engine and let it run at idle. If you turn on the electric radiator fan, wait until it turns off.

Arrangement of the screw (1) adjusting the air supply when the engine is idling
Fig. 14.1. Arrangement of the screw (1) adjusting the air supply when the engine is idling

Check the engine speed of the engine at idle and compare it with the technical data. If the frequency is not correct, adjust it by turning the screw the air supply (Fig. 14.1).
To adjust the air-fuel ratio disconnect fittings air intake system of the air filter and close them with suitable plugs.
Start up the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature and allow it to run at engine speed 2500 min -1 Z000 within
3 minutes and let run at idle. If you turn on the electric radiator fan, wait until it turns off.
Check CO content in the exhaust gas and compare the result with the technical data. If the CO content is not correct, remove the rubber cover from the air filter and adjust the content of CO, rotating the adjusting screw air a special tool Mazda ?49 NS27 140. The adjusting screw is provided with a convex oval head and a tool Mazda ?49 NS27 140 is made just below the size so make yourself a tool impossible.
Replace the rubber plug, then adjust the engine speed to idle.

Check and adjust the ignition timing (engines with PBT)
This operation is basically similar to the operation explained in "Checking and adjusting the ignition timing" (see. Sec. 2, "Adjustments and maintenance"), but before checking and adjusting ignition timing further disconnect and close the stopper tube vacuum regulator ignition distributor . At the end, check the pipe in place and ensure that the vacuum valve delays the ignition timing has been set correctly.

Check rear disc brakes
Lock the front wheel, lift the rear of the car and fix it on supports. Remove the rear wheels.
Through a hole in the back of the slide, check the thickness of the brake linings, which shall not be less than 1.0 mm, otherwise replace all four brake pads rear brake.
Check the brake hoses for cracks and cuts, check calipers for leaks and signs of damage.
Check rear brake discs for the presence of deep scratches, and if they are, replace them.
Install the rear wheels and lower the car to the ground.

Check and adjust the carburetor damper (engines with PBT)
Fully open the throttle, and then click on the thumb thrust damper carburetor and check that it is moving slowly. After releasing the traction it needs to quickly return to the starting position.
To adjust the carburetor damper start up the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
Stop the engine and connect the tachometer.
Increase the engine speed to 3500 min -1, then slowly reduce the speed and make sure the throttle lever is touching the damper rod at a speed of 3000 to + 100 min -1.
If necessary, loosen the locknut and install the rod to the desired position.
After adjustment, tighten the lock nut and remove the tachometer.

Replacement of the fuel filter (engines with PBT) The fuel filter is located on the left side of the engine compartment.
To collect the flowing fuel put under the fuel filter segment of tissue.
Remove banjo bolts and disconnect the hoses from the fuel filter. Remove the washers.
Unscrew the nuts and remove the fuel filter. Loosen the clamp bolt and remove the bracket.
Check the rubber elements of fastening of the filter for wear and replace them if necessary.
Install a new fuel filter. Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.

Replacing the air filter (engines with PBT)
Remove the four bolts that secure the air filter cover and air flow meter to the bottom of the case.
Remove the cover and remove the air filter.
Wipe the inside of the lid and the bottom of the case. If necessary, you can completely remove the lower part of the body by removing the nut and disconnect the air supply hose.
Install a new air filter. Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.

Replacing the wiper blades
Brushes and wiper arms models, manufactured from October 1984, modified. The brush is mounted on an arm with a hook and the hinge, instead of pins and sockets.
To remove the brush, first turn it at right angles to the wiper arm, and then disconnect and remove the hook from the end of the lever. Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
