Some components of security systems, as an integral part of the design of the car, do not require further attention from the owner of the vehicle. These include robust steel frame structures the cabin, which is located inside the cabin; front and rear crumple zones that absorb impact energy in a collision, and the automatic tensioning seat belts (optional), the sample is carried out automatically slack webbing in the event of impact.

Passive safety features

Seat belts

To ensure the safety of the occupants of the car all seats are equipped with seat belts.
On some models, the instrument cluster has a special warning lamp reminds the driver and passengers to wear seat belts (see. Section A combination of devices, gauges and warning lights and indicator lights).

The position of the seats and backrests

The design of car seats guarantees maximum comfort sitting in their person while providing conditions for the most effective performance of its functions belts and airbags. Soft padding and backrest provides additional protection sitting in emergency situations.

Choose the location of the seat also has an impact on the safety of the person sitting in it. For example, the excessive approximation of the seat to the steering wheel / dashboard increases the risk of injury while sitting airbag deployment, as well as the risk of ejection through the windscreen in a frontal collision.

The increase will worsen the seatback lock body harness - the more the backrest tilted back, the greater the chance slip body sitting under the lap section of the belt during a severe frontal impact, and the harder it may be injuries.

Lock the front seat as far as the remote (convenient for driving) from the steering wheel / dashboard position back in the upright position.

Headrests

Head restraints prevent injury to the cervical spine and head during a rear impact. The head restraint should be adjusted in height so that the top section is flush with the upper edge of the ear sitting (see. Section Rules of passive safety of the driver and passengers).

Active safety features

Among the active safety features include elements of the SRS (see. Section System of additional safety (SRS)).
