Check and installation of the initial ignition timing

Warm up the engine to operating temperature. Connect the strobe according to the instructions. Undock connector throttle position sensor. Start up the engine and let it run at idle. Check the ignition timing, aiming beam lamps on the labels put on the crankshaft pulley (Fig. 2.96). If necessary, loosen the distributor of ignition and turning the valve, install the ignition timing in accordance with the recommended value. Tighten the distributor of ignition. Again, check the ignition timing and turn off the strobe. Dock connector throttle position sensor.
