Removing the cylinder head

Before removing the cylinder head, record and mark the location of all brackets and gaskets hoses, cables and wires in order to facilitate the installation of the parts removed.
Below we consider the removal of the cylinder head without dismantling the inlet and outlet manifolds. In the case of having to dismantle the intake and exhaust manifolds to carry out this operation first.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the cooling system. Remove camshafts. Remove the air filter. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system of the engine and disconnect the fuel line and drain hoses from the throttle body and the fuel line. Shut off all openings to prevent fuel leakage and contamination in food. Disconnect the cable of a drive fuel control. Disconnect the electrical connectors throttle body, intake manifold and auxiliary devices.
Disconnect the electric wires from the manifold. Provide access to the cylinder head. Disconnect hoses from power steering, coolant hoses and all other hoses from the manifold and associated valve. Remove the intake manifold mounting brackets. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
On vehicles with automatic transmission disconnect a cable of compulsory inclusion of a hill-climbing gear from the housing assembly Throttle.

Loosen the clamp and remove the pipes of the cooling system from the rear of the coolant pump. Disconnect the pipes of the radiator from the front of the cylinder head; models of engines with fuel injection issue until 1993, remove the starter. Remove the bolt and remove the pipes of the cooling system of the cylinder head to the back of the cylinder.

Tightening the cylinder head bolts

Disconnect the electrical connectors of the distributor, ignition coil and ignition module. Release the harness from the mounting clamps; pull the wire away from the cylinder head. Disconnect the connection with "weight" of the cylinder head and intake manifold. Turn out two bolts and remove an arm of fastening of the generator to the cylinder head. Remove bolts 6 mm from the timing chain of the cylinder head and a bolt in front of the cylinder head (Fig. 2.55). Remove in the reverse order shown in Fig. 2.56, ten bolts securing the cylinder head. Make sure that all screws are rotated by hand, remove the bolts of the cylinder head together with the washers. Mark them for ease of installation in the assembly. Remove the cylinder head. Remove the gasket from the surface of the cylinder. If the dowel pins are easy to remove, remove them and store together with the cylinder head. Label paint correct position adjusting pins in the cylinder block.
