Removing and installing the steering knuckle



Assembling the knuckle

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove a corresponding wheel.
  2. Remove strut front suspension with lock plate and remove the rack from the brake hose (see chap. Brake System).
  3. Remove the knuckle brake caliper and secure it to the side so that it does not interfere with the work (see chap. Brake System).

It does not allow the brake hose was loaded. Do not press on the brake pedal when removing the caliper to the piston is released from the brake cylinder.

  1. Remove the brake disc from the hub (see chap. Brake System).
  2. Pull out the knuckle wheel sensor ABS (see chap. Brake System).

Do not pull on the sensor wiring.

  1. Hold the hub from turning, give the hub nut.
  1. Using pliers, remove from the steering knuckle tie rod. Temporarily screw the nut onto the threaded tip
  2. Remove the knuckle from the strut.

Avoid deflection of the drive shaft at an angle of more than 22 degrees.

  1. Separate the steering knuckle from the drive shaft and tie it so it did not fall.

Avoid deflection of the drive shaft at an angle of more than 22 degrees.

  1. Give the bolt and nut ball joint suspension and remove the control arm from the steering knuckle.
  2. If necessary, replace the wheel bearing.
  3. Installation is in the reverse order. Tighten fixture with demanded effort and desired sequence - see. The relevant chapters.
