Replacing anther drive shafts



The following describes how to change anther drive shaft without removing the shaft from the vehicle.


PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte car and establish it on props. Remove a corresponding wheel.
  2. Remove strut front suspension with lock plate and remove the rack from the brake hose (see chap. Brake System).
  3. Pull out the knuckle wheel sensor ABS (see chap. Brake System).

Do not pull on the sensor wiring.

  1. Hold the hub from turning, give the hub nut.
  1. Using pliers, remove from the steering knuckle tie rod. Temporarily screw the nut onto the threaded tip
  2. Remove the knuckle from the strut.
  3. Separate the steering knuckle from the drive shaft and tie it so it did not fall.

Avoid deflection of the drive shaft at an angle of more than 22 degrees.

  1. Remove banding anther outer CV joint boot and move with the hinge.
  1. Using a special puller screw in the end of the drive shaft, 30 mm (or more), remove the outer CV joint.
  1. Remove the boot from the drive shaft.
  1. Remove the end of the shaft retaining ring.
  1. Paper napkin holder pivot clean the old grease. Check the condition of the joint, and replace it if necessary.
  2. Tamp in a new joint grease through the hole splined so that it began to leak out of the cage. Released remove grease.
  3. Wrap the splined shaft of the tape not to damage boot during installation. Install a new boot on the shaft and the new banding anther.
  4. Remove the tape from the shaft splines.
  5. Install new retaining ring into the groove at the end of the drive shaft. Align and slide constant velocity joints on the shaft.
  6. Fit the hinge on a shaft by means of a special device.
  7. Tamp in boot 45 - 55 g grease since large edges of the anther.
  8. Clean the mating surfaces of the boot grease.
  1. Securely fasten the grooves on the boot and make sure that anther length (L) of 90.4 ?� 1 mm. Bend the edge of a screwdriver (from the larger diameter) anther and bleed air to prevent deformation of the boot.
  1. Secure boot the new banding.

Size M (see. Illustration above) when tightening the belts should be 2.5 ?� 0.5 mm.

  1. Rotate the hinge, make sure that the situation does not change the boot. Otherwise, replace the boot again.
  2. Make sure that the snap ring from the transmission is in place.
  3. Insert the drive shaft in the steering knuckle and temporarily tighten the hub nut.
  4. Install the knuckle to strut connect it to withdraw a part of the hub and tighten the nut with demanded effort.
  5. Establish a wheel and lower the car to the ground.
