System of additional safety (SRS)

Do not place hard or sharp objects between the body and air bags, or carry hard or sharp objects on your lap and do not smoke a pipe while driving, because this can result in severe injuries in an accident. In order to prevent the risk of unauthorized deployment of the airbags did not try to push the arms to the location of pillows and their modules. The locations of the airbags are marked with ?AIRBAG?.

Location SRS components

The number of devices and components additional safety system (SRS) comprises:

  • Two front airbags, as well as (with appropriate equipment) side airbags and side curtains. The module front of the driver's air bag is placed in the hub of the steering wheel; front passenger airbag is placed in a special cavity in the right part of the dashboard of the car, above the glove box. The side airbags are located in the outer sides of the front seat backs. Side curtains are located under the upholstery of the ceiling above the door opening;
  • Direction sensor overload, triggered when a severe frontal or side impacts (when the vehicle side airbags and curtains);
  • Electronic self-diagnostic system, which is when the ignition sensor provides continuous testing overload Control Unit, gas generators of pillows, squibs emergency pretensioners and wiring connecting the respective circuits;
  • Automatic emergency tightener mounted in the return device front seat belt;
  • SRS warning lamp in the instrument cluster.

For ease of identification of electric components of the SRS has a yellow insulation.

The principle of operation of the airbag

With weak frontal and side collisions, and a rollover car airbag trigger should not.

Sensors designed to respond to accelerations exceeding a certain limit, which may occur during a severe frontal or side collision. At a signal from the sensor control unit includes the airbag gas generators, causing their instant content.

During the collision the seat belt holds the offset from the lower torso sitting. Front airbags help prevent injury to the driver and front passenger as a result of the impact of the head and chest on the steering wheel / dashboard and hitting his head on the pillar / glass doors.

Both front airbags are triggered at the same time. However, there is a possibility of operation only one of the pair of pillows - this is possible when the magnitude of the problems in the collision directed overloads on the verge of the range of sensitivity of the sensors. In this case, the belts provide sufficient protection for the driver and front seat passenger, while the effect of the airbag deployment is minimized. Side airbags and inflatable curtains are only triggered by the impact.

Immediately after the operation and performance of its functions, the gas cushions are produced, allowing the driver to maintain visibility and freely manipulate all vehicle controls.

The total duration of the process from the moment the sensor signal overloads before the release of the gas from the airbag takes less than a tenth of a second. Operation of the modules takes place so fast that the human ear can not perceive a cotton pillow when filling gas generators.

After triggering the airbag volume vehicle interior may look a bit smoky because the slurry of fine powder, which is usually poured by the folded membrane cushions. People with respiratory disease may experience some discomfort from airborne gaseous products allocated gas generators of pillows.

SRS warning lamp

The warning lamp (K / L) SRS is built into the instrument cluster of a vehicle (see. Some car equipment, arrangement of devices and controls).

When the ignition K / L illuminates for about 7 seconds and then goes out, confirming serviceability of functioning of all system components SRS.

If the lamp does not turn on, it does not go off, flashing or randomly triggered at any other time, the owner of the car should be at the earliest opportunity to address to experts HUNDRED since when the above symptoms SRS system may fail during an accident.

Seat belts with automatic tensioners alert

Emergency automatic tensioners fitted reengaging the front belts. Tensioners are activated during heavy overloads the front (in conjunction with front airbags), resulting in a frontal collision, and provide instantaneous sample slack belt, causing the tape tightly covers the body of the last sitting, largely increasing the degree of protection for the driver and front passenger.

Triggering module is accompanied by a loud bang and a small release of smoke.

Eye-catching tensioners when triggered smoke is safe for human health, but with the direct inhalation can cause irritation of the mucous membranes.

The procedure for the use of such belts is similar to the order of use of conventional belts, equipped with inertial returnable devices. Tensioning mechanism does not require any additional user skill and knowledge.

As in the case of airbag modules of emergency tensioners are designed to fire only once and must be replaced after such assembly belts - contact the service station.
