When a failure is detected AT first check the level of ATF (see chap. Adjustment and car routine maintenance). If the level is not sufficient, check the appropriate seals. Carefully inspect all hoses and oil cooler tract ATF, make sure there are no signs of leaks. Forces of the owner of the vehicle can be performed checking / replacing the sensor information management system antibodies, as well as replacement of drive components AT mode selection. Before proceeding to replace the suspect sensor, make a survey of the control unit - all of any significant faults recorded in the memory module in the form of codes DTC, and in particularly serious cases, the AT automatically switches to the emergency mode of operation. Read the DTC is made using a special diagnostic equipment are connected to the system board self-diagnostics (DLC) (see chap. Systems of an electric motor). In the absence of access to the necessary instruments will be enough to at least try to qualitatively determine the nature of failure (electrical / mechanical) in order to facilitate communication with the service specialist. It should not be premature to proceed to the removal of the AT, as its diagnosis seems possible only in the prescribed position.
