Maintenance distributor

Distributor Cap should be cleaned inside and outside at regular intervals to remove residual sludge, dust or moisture. Also clean the slider valve. To clean, use a cloth soaked in gasoline; at the same time cover check for cracks. Replace slider of the distributor, if the contacts are worn out.

Brass contacts in any case can not be sanded or rasp. An outer surface of the high-voltage cables are clean and dry to ensure the normal flow of current in the ignition system. Remove all wires from the distributor, clean and check the contacts. Wires can not be shortened to correct the bad ends of the contacts. Always replace wire.

Removal and installation of the distributor of ignition

If the valve is removed from the engine, it should be installed in the same position, to maintain the regulation of ignition. For this reason, all the elements and mark without cranking the engine shafts, insert the distributor so that the grip has been installed in the same position.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Checking vacuum and centrifugal adjustments

These works are also required only for vehicles without a catalyst. Vacuum adjustment can be accurately measured only by means of electronic devices. However, the health check of the vacuum device can be carried out as follows, if there is a stroboscope:

  1. Find a notch in the belt pulley of the crankshaft and mark with paint. To do this, unscrew the plate screwed to get to the pulley.
  2. Connect the strobe in accordance with the instructions to him and start the engine. Leave the engine running at idle.
