Check and adjust the ignition timing



Combining ignition timing mark on the flywheel with the mark on the clutch housing

1 - ignition timing mark on the flywheel;

2 - TDC of the first cylinder on the flywheel;

3 - mark on the clutch housing

Ignition timing is adjusted to the engine is warm to the adjusted idle speed, all electrical consumers are switched off, the cooling fan is not working.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect the stroboscope.
2. Start the engine and run at idle.
3. To direct the strobe lamp at the window in the clutch housing, after removing the plastic plug. Label 1 on the handwheel must align with mark 3 on the clutch housing. If label 1 and 3 do not match, you need to loosen the bolts of the distributor, and by turning the distributor, to achieve alignment marks 1 and 3. Tighten distributor.
4. Check the idle speed.
5. Again, check the ignition timing
6. Turn off the strobe.
