Check and adjust the ignition timing
Combining ignition timing mark on the flywheel with the mark on the clutch housing
| 1 - ignition timing mark on the flywheel;
2 - TDC of the first cylinder on the flywheel;
3 - mark on the clutch housing |
Ignition timing is adjusted to the engine is warm to the adjusted idle speed, all electrical consumers are switched off, the cooling fan is not working.
PERFORMANCE ORDER | 1. Connect the stroboscope. | 2. Start the engine and run at idle. | 3. To direct the strobe lamp at the window in the clutch housing, after removing the plastic plug. Label 1 on the handwheel must align with mark 3 on the clutch housing. If label 1 and 3 do not match, you need to loosen the bolts of the distributor, and by turning the distributor, to achieve alignment marks 1 and 3. Tighten distributor. | 4. Check the idle speed. | 5. Again, check the ignition timing | 6. Turn off the strobe. |
