Check and adjust the ignition timing

Check and adjust the ignition timing in the following order:
- Before checking or adjusting ignition timing, check the ignition system;
- Check the adjustment of the fuel system (idle speed and quality of the mixture);
- Turn off the air conditioning;
- Remove the cap from the inspection hole clutch;
- Rotate the crankshaft of the engine in the following ways:
- Manually turn the crankshaft clockwise by pulley;
- Turn the 4th or 5th gear and move the car;
- Lift the front of the car in gear and turn the front wheel;

Marks on the flywheel
Fig. 6.11. Marks on the flywheel 1 - mark "6 ?? before TDC (ignition timing); 2 - mark "0 ?? TDC

- Until the timing marks on the flywheel will not be visible through the inspection hole (see. Fig. 6.11). White, quick-drying paint, check the ignition timing mark on the flywheel and a V-notch in the bottom of the inspection hole;
- Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature;
- Turn off the engine and connect the strobe in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Engines PB, PF and 2E:

- Disconnect the blue connector from the temperature sensor (Fig. 6.29 and 6.30);
- Increase the engine speed to 2000- 2500 min-1.
Engine RP:
- Disconnect and close the plug a vacuum hose of the vacuum regulator ignition timing;
- Run the engine at idle.
Engine KR:
- Run the engine at idle.
Engine 9A:
- Check for fault codes and eliminate a fault;
- Run the engine at idle.
All engines:
Aim the strobe light in the inspection hole. If the ignition timing is correctly lined with pre-marked marks on the flywheel aligns with the notch in the lower part of the inspection hole;
to adjust, loosen the bolt of the distributor and turn the valve so that the timing marks are aligned, and then tighten the bolt distributor;
After the adjustment, turn off the engine and replace the cap that covers the inspection hole. Disconnect and connect the strobe connector temperature sensor and a vacuum hose of the vacuum regulator ignition timing.
