Front Wheel Bearings
Faulty front wheel bearing noise manifested in the sharp turns and difficulty rotating the wheel.
A WARNING After removing the front wheel bearing only install a new bearing. |
Bearing Removal in the following order: - Remove the knuckle from the vehicle; - Remove the screw with a Phillips-head screws and remove the brake disc; - Unscrew and remove the protective plate of the brake disc;

- Install the knuckle to the hub under pressure and, using tubular mandrel of appropriate diameter, press out the hub. In the presence of a stripper with two grips secure knuckle grip and squeeze the hub (Fig. 10.7);

- Using a puller, remove the bearing inner ring from the hub (Fig. 10.8);

- Remove the retaining ring (Fig. 10.9) and press out the bearing, and, place the knuckle on press table mounting collar up; - Models with ABS Remove the timing rotor speed sensor. Bearing Installation Installation is made in the following order: - Clean the bearing seat in the knuckle; - Set the inside of the knuckle lock ring of the bearing; - Lubricate the outside of the knuckle slot bearing grease;

- Install the knuckle under the press and press-fit the bearing from the outside inwards (Fig. 10.10); - Under the knuckle enclose a solid gasket;
A WARNING In no case do not apply force to the bead strut. |
- Press-fit bearing up until it stops against the retaining ring; - If the bearing using a tube, so check that its diameter is the diameter of the outer ring of the bearing; - Establish a second retaining ring and check that it is fully seated in the groove;

- Press in the hub. To do this, the bearing inner ring mounted in the knuckle on the tubular mandrel and press in the bearing hub (Fig. 10.11); - Replace the rotor hub gear sensor ABS, then plug the hub into the knuckle; - Establish a protective plate of the brake disc and brake disc; - Install the knuckle; - Lower the car on the earth; - Tighten the nut of the drive shaft torque; - Jack up front of the vehicle so that the front wheels off the ground and turn the hand wheel, make sure that they had a free course and had no lateral play.
