Toothed belt

The tension of the toothed belt in the four-cylinder petrol engines made roller automatic tensioner that maintains optimal tension of the belt, resulting in longer service life and smooth running toothed belt.
A warning

On engines with different codes are set high rollers automatic mechanism of a tension of a gear belt.

Withdrawal

The combination of adjusting labels

Removing the toothed belt is made to the engine, the temperature of which should be more than 30 ? C. If necessary, warm up the engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the auxiliary V-belt.
2. Remove the mechanism of tension on the serpentine accessory drive belt.
3. Remove the top casing of a gear belt.
4. If the gear belt is repeatedly established, using a marker or paint, mark the direction of rotation of the toothed belt. When viewed from the front of the engine, the motor pulley rotates clockwise.
5. Turn the engine so that the first cylinder established at TDC.
Crank the engine in the following ways:
- Lift the front of the car and fix on supports. Turn the fifth gear and tighten the hand brake. Hold one front wheel from turning, manually rotate the second front wheel. This crankshaft will rotate;
- Park the vehicle on level ground, then turn on the fifth gear and manually move the car forward or backward;
- Establish a transmission in neutral position and tighten a manual brake. Using a wrench, bolt for the crankshaft pulley a cranked shaft of the engine.
A warning

Do not crank the engine crankshaft pulley bolt for the camshaft, as in this case, the load on the toothed belt max.

6. Rotate the crankshaft of the engine as long as the mark on the camshaft pulley is aligned with the VMT pointer on the cylinder head cover (see. Fig. The combination of adjusting labels. Make sure that the mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the pointer on the lower casing of a gear belt. When combining labels with pointers of the first cylinder piston is at TDC in the compression stroke.

ADP Engine

The combination of an adjusting label of a pulley of a camshaft with a pointer and marks on the crankshaft and the intermediate shaft on the motor ADP during the installation of the piston of the first cylinder in TDC

ADP is installed on the engine ignition distributor driven by an intermediate shaft. If the mark on the camshaft pulley is aligned with the pointer, the marks on the crankshaft and the intermediate shaft should be aligned.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Hold against turning the crankshaft pulley, remove the four bolts securing the pulley to the crankshaft. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
2. Unscrew and remove the bottom casing of a gear belt.

Engines AEB, ADP

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Loosen the bolt tensioner rlika toothed belt.

Engine AHL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Loosen the nut of a tension roller of a gear belt.

Engine ADR

Tensioner timing belt on the engine ADR

1 - a tension roller,

2 - the hole in the piston housing,

3 - a bolt

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using an 8-mm Allen key, gently turn counterclockwise toothed belt tensioning pulley to align the holes (2) in the piston and the housing (see. Fig. Tensioner timing belt on the engine ADR). Insert the combined opening of a steel rod or shank drill of appropriate diameter.
A warning

In the toothed belt tensioning element uses the principle of hydraulic pacifier and it can only compress at a temperature above 30 ? C. Do not unscrew the bolt (3). See Fig. Tensioner timing belt on the engine ADR.

2. Remove the toothed belt from the motor pulley.
A warning

Do not bend sharply toothed belt, as in the operation of the toothed belt in place sharp bend can break, resulting in damage to the engine.

After removal of the timing belt change the position of the toothed belt pulley.

If after removing the toothed belt crankshaft of the engine, there will be an impact of pistons with valves, causing them to be damaged and will require extensive repairs of the engine. Mark the position of the crankshaft pulley, for which paint put labels on a pulley and the engine block. If necessary, turn the crankshaft by 90 ? clockwise or counterclockwise.

Check the toothed belt for wear, bundle or lubrication. If the toothed belt there are traces of oil before installing the new belt locate the source of the oil leak and fix it.

Inspection
A warning

Do not twist or bend a gear belt.

Exclude hit on a toothed belt oil, coolant or fuel.

If there is pitting of the teeth of a gear belt, probably jammed distributor, water pump, oil pump and camshaft.

A warning

If ruptured toothed belt with the engine running, it is possible that a collision occurred on the valve piston, whereby the valve can be bent. Check valve clearances. On the bent valves, valve clearances are much more required.

If there is a significant deterioration, cracks or layering on the outer surface of the toothed belt, check the treadmills idler pulley.

Wear one side of the belt indicates a misalignment of pulleys of a gear belt. Check directing a gear belt and alignment of pulleys of a gear belt.

If there are any defects in the toothed belt should be replaced. Periodic replacement of the timing belt should be carried out after 100 000 km of run of the car.

Setting
A warning

Install and tension toothed belt make on the cold engine.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a gear belt on pulleys of cranked and intermediate shaft.
A warning

When reinstalling timing belt set it so that the arrow on the belt, deposited before removing the belt coincides with the direction of rotation of the motor pulley. If you install the toothed belt will rotate in the opposite direction may be cracks in the belt and engine failure.

2. Replace and tighten bolts the bottom casing of a gear belt.
3. Install the crankshaft pulley and fix its bolts, having tightened their moment of 25 Nm. Keep in mind that the pulley is installed only in one position.
4. Verify that the labels of pulleys of distributive and cranked shaft are combined with indexes.
5. Put the toothed belt on the camshaft pulley.

Engines AEB, ADP

Elements of toothed belt tension on engines AEB, ADP

A - holder
B - Wrench

1 - shoulder holder
2 - the piston,
3 - wrench, mounted on the screw

Important dimensions to verify the timing belt tension on engines AEB, ADP, ADR

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using a wrench (B) or the special wrench HAZET 2587 turn clockwise holder (A) the timing belt tensioner pulley so that the piston (1) came to the end, and the piston (2) rose by 1 mm above the hull. While holding this position, the tension roller of a gear belt, tighten the screw (3) to 25 Nm. See fig. Elements of toothed belt tension on engines AEB, ADP.
2. Rotate the crankshaft 2 turns in a clockwise direction and check that the marks on the crankshaft and camshafts were combined with indexes.
3. Check the layout of the timing belt tensioner. A size should be aligned with the top edge of the piston. Size D should be in the range of 25-29 mm (see. Fig. Control dimensions for validation toothed belt tension on engines AEB, ADP, ADR). In this case, the toothed belt tension is correctly adjusted.
If the upper edge of the piston is within the size of the B or C, you need to re-adjust the tension of the toothed belt, as well as check the status of the timing belt and tensioner pulley.
If the upper end of the piston is located in the B or D size over 29 mm, it is necessary to adjust the position of a tension roller of a gear belt. If the upper end of the piston is in the domain, you need to re-adjust the position of a tension roller of a gear belt and check the condition of the toothed belt with tension roller. If necessary, install a new timing belt and tensioner roller.

Engine ADR

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using an 8-mm Allen key, turn the toothed belt tensioning roller anti-clockwise and remove from the opening of the piston rod or a steel drill. Release the tension roller and remove the hex key. Do not turn the screw (3). See Fig. Tensioner timing belt on the engine ADR.
