Filling the cooling system with coolant

Filling the cooling system with cooling liquid is made on a cold engine. The order of execution of works:
- Unscrew the cover of the expansion tank;

A warning
Put a thick cloth around the cap of the cooling system and turn the cover first-quarter turn to let off steam.

- Put the front part of the car on supports and remove the protection of the engine compartment;

- Disconnect lower coolant hose (Fig. 460) and drain the coolant.
In order to ensure that no air bubbles in the cooling system:
- Pour coolant expansion tank up to the top edge and close the expansion tank;
- Start the engine and let it run for as long as the fan is switched on;

Check the coolant level in the cooling system can be looking at the expansion tank

- Check the coolant level in the expansion tank. Top up the coolant if it is below the level of labeling in the expansion tank (Fig. 461). The coolant level can be slightly above the mark "MAX" when the engine is hot.
Once the engine is cold, coolant level should be established between the upper and lower control risk on the expansion tank. If not, you should top up the coolant.

A warning
Do not replace or top up the coolant in the engine is hot - it can damage the engine.
