Replacing shift cable

Note
Before replacing the two shift cable read all instructions on this work. Many of the operations are quite complex and difficult to carry out an inexperienced person.

Details of the cable drive gear
Fig. 248. Details of rope drive gear: 1 - a tip of a cable of a gear change; 2 - the cable end gear selection; 3 - a cable of a choice of transfer; 4 - a cable of a gear change; 5 - nut 3 Nm; 6 - bolt 20 Nm; 7 - the holder; 8 - a nut 20 N ? m; 9 - swivel arm; 10 - the lever of a choice of transfer

Replacing shift cable is a time-consuming job. Cable drive gear exploded view is shown in (Fig. 248).
The shift cable can not be changed separately, since they belong to the same node. Replace shift cable sequence is as follows:
- Disconnect and remove the AB (do not forget to carry a radio security code);

Place the air duct walls and AB (the details are shown in the attachment points by arrows)
Fig. 234. Place the air duct walls and AB (the details are shown in the attachment points by arrows): 1 - the air; 2 - compartment bulkhead AB

- Remove the air line 1 (see. Fig. 234) and the partition cover 2 AB;

Places of fastening of a casing of the batteries and the additional block of the relay
Fig. 235. Designated mounting enclosure AB and of the additional block of the relay

- If installed, remove the additional block of the relay to the left in the engine compartment of the motor (see. Fig. 235, arrows 1 and 2);
- Remove the bolts (see. Fig. 235, arrow 3) and remove the cover of the rechargeable battery cooling system expansion tank. Put the tank aside;

Attaching the cable to the lever transmission
Fig. 239. Attaching cables to the gear lever: 1 - select lever; 2 - the lever of inclusion of transfers

- Carefully push a screwdriver cable from the lever 1 (see. Fig. 239) and a second gear selection lever 2 cable from the inclusion of transfers;

Mounting shift cable on the gearbox. To remove cables, squeeze the latches in the direction of the arrows
Fig. 240. Mounting shift cable on the gearbox. To remove cables, squeeze the latches in the direction of the arrows

- Squeeze the latches (see. Fig. 240, arrows) and remove the two cable shift from the holder on the gearbox;
- Remove the bolts of the front screen heat protection of the exhaust system and slide it into the space between the exhaust system and rear-screen thermal protection so as to expose both the shift cable. If there are difficulties, then disconnect the exhaust pipe and the middle part of the exhaust system, so that you can move the front screen of the thermal protection;
- Remove both front seats with seat adjustment devices;
- Unscrew the gear lever knob and remove it with a compression spring (spring loosens after unscrewing the handle);

Removal of the blocking mechanism 1 reverse gear and protective bellows 2
Fig. 249. Removing the blocking mechanism 1 reverse gear and protective bellows 2

- Unclip the center console of the bellows 2 (Fig. 249) the shift lever;
- Pull the gaiter up and remove it together with the mechanism 1 (see. Fig. 249) to block the reverse gear;
- Remove the clamps cover the center console and remove the bolt holding the center console;
- Open the ashtray and pull it upwards;

Removing the center console
Fig. 250. Removal of the central console 1 - the center console; 2 - plug connector system diagnostics; 3 - lamp lighting ashtrays

- Remove the light bulb 3 (Fig. 250) lighting ashtrays and disconnect the plug connector 2 system diagnostics;
- Remove the center console up through the shift lever;

Removing the middle facing the instrument panel
Fig. 251. Removing the middle facing the instrument panel: 1 - mean facing the instrument panel

- Unscrew and remove the middle trim 1 (Fig. 251), the instrument panel;

Removing the rack gain (location bolts rack gain shown by arrows)
Fig. 252. Removing the rack gain (location bolts rack gain shown by arrows)

- Remove the bolts (Fig. 252 are indicated by arrows) and remove the rack gain, which is under the instrument panel;

Removal of the handle lever and hand brake cover
Fig. 253. Removal of the handle lever and hand brake cover 1 - the handle; 2 - Case; 3 - a casing. The location of the two stoppers arrow

- Lift the handbrake lever and pull out the screwdriver, two stops (Fig. 253). Remove the handle 1 handbrake lever toward the front and pull off the arm cover 2;
- Disconnect the cable from the mounting flange of the bottom;
- Remove the air outlet grille and rear heater duct heating;

Disconnecting the cables from the gear lever. Follow the direction of the arrows 1 and 2
Fig. 254. Disconnecting the cables from the gear lever. Follow the direction of the arrows 1 and 2

- Disconnect the two cable shift of the gearshift lever. To do this, press the locking mechanism back to the stop (Fig. 254, arrow 1) and turn in the direction (arrow 2) for their release;

Removing the cables from the gear lever housing. Squeeze both the language indicated by the arrows to remove the ropes
Fig. 255. Removing the cables from the gear lever housing. Squeeze both the language indicated by the arrows to remove the ropes

- Squeeze both of the tongue (Fig. 255) and remove the cable from the case, both the gearshift lever. Now both shift cable can be pulled into the cabin.
Installation of a cable shift spend in reverse order, taking into consideration the following points:
- Insert the cables separately (one by one) into the holes underbody;
- The two cable gearshift go under the vehicle to the gearbox;

Installation cables 1 and 2 shift. 1 gear selection cable must be crossed with a rope 2 switching gear
Fig. 256. Installation of cables 1 and 2 shift. 1 gear selection cable must be crossed with a rope 2 switching gear

- 1 cable (Fig. 256) of gear selection shall be crossed with a rope 2 switching gears. Then slide the two cable clamps to lock in the gearbox;
- Put an end to the cable 1 (see. Fig. 239) in the select lever and the cable 2 on the lever of inclusion of transfers;
- Pull the select lever all the way out and squeeze the two tabs outward;
- Bolts rack gain under the dashboard, tighten to 20 Nm.
