14. 4-cylinder diesel engine: disconnect the engine from the drive ropes.
15. Install the supporting device VW-3250 on both sides so that the left axle, screw the shock absorber and the connecting rod (stabilizer on the right) can be removed. Focus (A) bearing arrangement must be in front of the upper knuckle. V-neck (B) rests on the bracket mounted units (2).

A warning

Support means 3250 VW-set prior to lifting machine, otherwise the machine will again be influenced by the springs or the load.

16. Remove left axle shaft.
17. Disconnect the left axle flange from the gearbox.
18. Unscrew the screw on the right shock absorber and the connecting rod (stabilizer).
19. Unscrew the connection weight of (-) from the gearbox and bearing bracket.
20. Remove the starter motor (see. Subsection 10.18.1).
21. The diesel engine: disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the vacuum pump on the engine.
22. 5-cylinder engine: to remove the generator (see. Subsection 10.17.2).
23. Disconnect the gearbox support bearing (A) of the bearing (B) and from the engine. The figure shows a support bearing Transmission 4-cylinder engine.
24. 4-cylinder engine: to unscrew the screw fixing the engine-transmission of the bearing housing.
25. 4-cylinder engine: Remove the guard from the bottom of the flywheel.
26. Air conditioning: remove the compressor, set aside and hung on a wire.
A warning

Pipelines do not open.

27. Prior to 8/92 (the date of manufacture of the box 08.09.92): remove the back support of a transmission with the console. Push the assembly motor-gearbox, if necessary, a little forward.
28. 8/92 (date of manufacture of the box 08.10.92): unscrew the back support of the engine-gearbox. Wherein unscrew the bolt (C), tilt the gearbox and pull forward gearbox support.
29. Remove the speedometer drive roller bearing housing with the right flange shaft.
30. Screw as shown above, the engine support VW-3230.

A warning

For the 5-cylinder engine requires engine mount VW-3227.
