The battery discharges itself
Depending on the vehicle equipment is added to the self-discharge the battery energy is constantly acting consumers. Therefore, the battery is not to drive the vehicle must be charged every 4 weeks. If there is a suspicion of surface leakage currents, check the on-board network as follows: To test the use of a fully charged battery. | - Disconnect earth cable from the battery.
 | This data is erased from the memory of malfunctions of the engine or a protective code of a radio receiver. Before disconnecting the battery should read instructions in Section Removal and installation of the battery. |
| - Set on the ammeter (measuring range with 0 - 5 mA and 0 - 5 A) highest limit of measurement. Insert an ammeter between the minus pole of the battery and the cable weight.
|
 | Testing can be performed using the indicator. If the indicator lamp between the cable weight and minus pole of the battery does not light, it should be in any case, use an ammeter. |
- Switch off all electrical consumers, to close the doors.
- Switch the measuring range of the ammeter until until there are indications (1-3 mA acceptable).
- When removing the fuses one by one, break the different current loops. If the opening of one of the circuits readings will drop to 0, we should seek the source of the fault. Possible errors: corroded and dirty contacts, frayed wires, the internal circuit in the unit.
- If the protected circuit fuse failure is detected, disconnect the wire unprotected fuse assemblies: generator, starter, ignition system.
- If you disable one of the unprotected circuits readings fall to 0, to repair or replace the appropriate item. With the loss of power in the starter or ignition system always check the circuit breaker for the ignition starter.
- Connect the earth cable to the battery.
- If available, set the clock and set the security code radio.
