Dual mass flywheel

Remove the gearbox.

Using the devices 10-201 to fix the flywheel from turning
Fig. 3.1.51. Using the devices 10-201 to fix the flywheel from turning

Using the adaptation 10-201 (Fig. 3.1.51), lock the flywheel from turning.
Remove the bolts and, being careful, remove the flywheel.
Installing the flywheel is made in sequence, return to removal. Replace with new bolts of its fastening.
Tighten the flywheel bolts to 60 N ? m and tighten at an angle of 180 ?.

Drive plate
Mark the position of the master drive on the drive.
To eliminate rotation drive plate when loosening the bolts, use the special tool VW 558.
Again, check the position of the master drive on the drive, remove the screws and remove the drive disc.

Location of the support plate (1) and the adjusting plate (2) by placing the leading disk
Fig. 3.1.52. Location of the support plate (1) and the adjusting plate (2) by placing the leading disk

Install the drive plate with the adjusting plate 2 (Fig. 3.1.52) and the base plate 1.
Replace at least three of the old drive plate bolts and tighten them to a torque of 30 Nm. Measure the distance from the motor flange to the end surface of the drive plate, which for an automatic transmission should be equal to 18,9-20,5 mm.Esli distance is not correct, choose the adjustment plate 2 (see. Fig. 3.1.52) another thickness. After reaching the required size replace the new flywheel bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.

Using a special puller Kukko to extract the needle bearing from the rear end of the crankshaft
Fig. 3.1.53. Using a special puller Kukko to extract the needle bearing from the rear end of the crankshaft

To replace the needle bearing in the rear end of the crankshaft using a special puller Kukko 22/1 and Kukko 21/1 (Fig. 3.1.53). Install the puller on the rear end of the crankshaft, and press out the needle bearing.
For pressing using the new needle bearing mandrel 3176 or VW207S.
Install the bearing so that the inscription on the bearing was visible.
Bearing set to 1.5 mm lower end of the crankshaft.
