Ribbed Belts

Ribbed belt drives the alternator, power steering pump, radiator fan, air conditioning compressor and water pump depending on engine modifications.

Withdrawal
Disconnect "weight" from the storage battery.
When removing the V-ribbed belt is necessary to consider the following.

Units operated by a Poly-V belt
Fig. 3.2.19. Units operated by a Poly-V belt: 1 - a bolt, 10 Nm; 2 - fan wheel; 3 - ribbed belt; 4 - bolt 22 Nm; 5 - generator; 6 - bolt 45 Nm; 7 - bolt 22 Nm; 8 - an arm of the generator; 9 - bolt 45 Nm; 10 - remote bush; 11 - bolt 55 Nm; 12 - bolt 22 Nm; 13 - a pulley of power steering pump; 14 - pressure line for power steering; 15 - banjo bolt, 40 Nm; 16 - sealing washers; 17 - bolt 22 Nm; 18 - the power steering pump with holder; 19 - bolt 22 Nm; 20 - a pulley with bracket; 21 - V-belt tensioner; 22 - bolt 25 Nm; 23 - air conditioning compressor; 24 - a bolt (Nm M6-10, M8-22 Nm); 25 - a pulley-damper; 26 - bolt 22 Nm; 27 - viscous coupling radiator fan

1. When removing and installing pulley 13 (Fig. 3.2.19) to secure it against rotation using special tool 3212.
2. When installing a sealing ring 16 should be replaced.
3. Do not unscrew and disconnect the piping air-conditioning system.
4. When removing the air conditioner compressor motor 23 to move in the direction along with the associated piping of the refrigerant and fix it on the back of soft wire.

Location screws engine cover
Fig. 3.2.1. Location screws engine cover

Remove the four screws and remove the engine cover (see. Fig. 3.2.1).

Location screws bottom mudguard of a motor compartment
Fig. 3.2.2. Location screws bottom mudguard of a motor compartment

Remove the screws indicated by arrows in Fig. 3.2.2, and remove the bottom mudguard of a motor compartment.
Remove the front bumper.
Install the front transverse panel in service position (see. "Body").

Wrenching bolts radiator fan
Fig. 3.2.20. Wrenching bolts radiator fan

Hold the pulley radiator fan from turning a special key 3212, a conventional key, remove the pulley bolt. The bolt has a left-hand thread for unscrewing it must rotate in a clockwise direction (Fig. 3.2.20).
Lift the radiator fan and remove it from the vehicle.

A WARNING
Chalk, markers or paint mark the direction of rotation of poly V-belt. After setting the belt rotates in the opposite direction, which may result in its destruction

Tensioner pulley with external hexagon

Easing tension on the serpentine belt tensioner pulley with an external hexagon. The arrows indicate the location of the pins 3204
Fig. 3.2.21. Easing tension on the serpentine belt tensioner pulley with an external hexagon. The arrows indicate the location of the pins 3204

Spanner 17 mm turn clockwise tensioner V-ribbed belt, causing the belt tension will ease. Lock the tensioner in this position, the pins 3204 (Fig. 3.2.21) and remove the belt from the alternator.

Roller tensioner with the Allen

Easing tension on the serpentine belt tensioner with roller with hexagon socket. 1, 2 - the location of the pins 3204
Fig. 3.2.22. Easing tension on the serpentine belt tensioner with roller with hexagon socket. 1, 2 - the location of the pins 3204

Allen key 10 mm turn clockwise tensioner V-ribbed belt, causing the belt tension will ease. Lock the tensioner in this position, the pins 3204 (Fig. 3.2.22) and remove the belt from the alternator.

All models
Remove poly V-belt from the pulleys.

Setting
Slide drive belt, acting in the counterclockwise direction, first at the crankshaft pulley and then on the tensioner pulley.

Location V-ribbed belt for vehicles with a fan with viscous coupling without air conditioning
Fig. 3.2.23. Location V-ribbed belt for vehicles with a fan with viscous coupling without air conditioning: 1 - generator; 2 - ribbed belt; 3 - the power steering pump; 4 - Fan with viscous clutch; 5 - the crankshaft; 6 - tensioner pulley

When installing the V-ribbed belt, pay attention to its location right on the pulleys (Fig. 3.2.23, 3.2.24).

Location V-ribbed belt for vehicles with a fan with viscous coupling and air conditioning
Fig. 3.2.24. Location V-ribbed belt for vehicles with a fan with viscous coupling and air conditioning: 1 - generator; 2 - ribbed belt; 3 - the power steering pump; 4 - Fan with viscous clutch; 5 - air conditioning compressor; 6 - the crankshaft; 7 - tensioner pulley

Remove the pin that secures the tensioner.

A WARNING
Pulley nut radiator fan has a left-hand thread, so it needs to be tightened counterclockwise.

Install radiator fan pulley and secure it with a nut, having tightened its moment of 37 Nm.
Start the engine, check the location and fluidity V-ribbed belt.
