Check the power supply system of the engine

The main indicator of health of the power supply system of the engine is a fuel pressure in the fuel rail. But first we recommend to check the condition of the air filter (see. "Replacing the air filter element"), as this procedure is simple and will not take much time. Once you make clean the air filter, check the electrical contact pads in the wiring harness assemblies injection system, responsible for the supply of fuel (elektrobenzonasos, nozzles).
Check the fuel pressure in the fuel rail of the engine is possible only with a pressure gauge with a set of adapters for connection to the fuel pipe.
1. Turn on the ignition and listen: in a few seconds you should hear the sound of elektrobenzonasosa. If it is not heard, check the electrical power supply circuit elektrobenzonasosa.

A WARNING
Keep in mind that elektrobenzonasos not turn on if the system has a fuel pressure. In other words, if you have previously included the ignition and tried to start up the engine, the defective elektrobenzonasos was to create pressure in the system and its failure to include in this case is not a malfunction.

2. The procedure for checking the fuel pressure is described in Sec. 5 "Engine" (see. "Checking the fuel pressure in the fuel system"). When idling the engine fuel line pressure should be about 3 kg / cm 2.
The possible reasons for the decline of pressure:
- Faulty fuel pressure regulator. In addition, the failure of the regulator can be caused by the weakening of the landing on the hose nipple of the vacuum chamber of the regulator;
- Clogged fuel filter;
- Faulty fuel pump.
Remedy of faults can be found in Sec. 5 "Engine" (see. "The power supply system of the engine").
