Removal and installation of the accelerator pedal



The accelerator pedal is removed to replace the plastic sleeves of its axis when a squeaking, binding or a larger backlash, and to replace the return spring when it is damaged.

NOTE
Bushes axis of the accelerator pedal and its return spring can be replaced directly on the car, but since access to pedal quite difficult, we recommend to remove the pedal assembly from the bracket.

You will need: a socket wrench "12", a screwdriver.
1. Disconnect the cable from the pedal the throttle (see. "Adjustment and replacement of the throttle cable").
2. Remove the two nuts pedal bracket to the panel front end ...
3. ... and remove the accelerator pedal assembly from the bracket.

4. To replace the two plastic plugs 7 (Fig. 5.26), remove the pedal axis 5 at both ends of the axis lock washers 6, prying with a screwdriver. Then remove the axis 5 of the holes in the bracket 3, alternately taking off her plastic sleeve 7, a steel washer 4 and 8. Remove the recoil spring from the second axis of the steel washer and the plastic sleeve.
NOTE
So look fasteners accelerator pedal. In the photograph, they are arranged in the same order in which are installed on the vehicle.

5. Assemble the accelerator pedal and install it on the vehicle in reverse order of disassembly and removal.
