| 1. Turn off the ignition and all consumers of electric energy. |
| 2. Disconnect the battery. Negative wire must be disconnected first, and connect the last. |
| 3. Remove the battery from the vehicle. |
A warning If the case has been damaged the battery, remove the battery rubber gloves to protect your skin from the electrolyte.

| 4. Check the battery fasteners, as they may be damaged by hitting on their electrolyte. If necessary, clean them with warm soda solution. |
| 5. In the same solution, clean the top of the battery. |
| 6. Inspect battery for cracks. If there are cracks, replace the battery. |
| 7. Clean the battery terminals. |
| 8. Clean the inner surface of the clamp wires connected to the battery terminals. |
| 9. Install the battery in the car. |
| 10. Connect the wires to the battery terminals. |
| 11. Tighten the mounting clips of wires to the terminals of the battery. |
| 12. Coat the battery terminals a thin layer of petroleum jelly. |
