Drive shaft with SHRUS Birfield (BJ) and tripoidnogo type (TJ)



Dismantling

  • Do not disassemble the unit support rollers.
  • For lubrication of constant velocity joints, use only special grease.
  • When assembling SHRUS necessary to establish new collars.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the clamps and pull the protective cover from the ball SHRUS (TJ) of the drive shaft.

Be careful not to damage the protective cover.

  1. Special pliers, remove the retaining ring and hammer through a brass core bring down support rollers tripoidnogo connection with the drive shaft.
  1. Clean the support rollers tripoidnogo connection.
  2. Remove the clamps and pull the protective covers of spherical CV joints (BJ) and SHRUS Birfield (BJ).

If the dust cover is to be reused before removing the cover for its protection, wrap the drive shaft splines with tape.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the condition of the drive shaft splines.
  2. Check for signs of rust, water and foreign objects in the boot band Birfield (BJ).
  3. Check the support rollers tripoidnogo connections for wear or corrosion.
  4. Check recess inside SHRUS (TJ) for wear or corrosion.
  1. Check the dynamic damper for damage.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installing a cover for its protection wrap drive shaft splines from tripoidnogo joint (TJ) with adhesive tape.
  1. Grease the drive shaft and install the cover.
Cars with engines of 1.6 and 1.8 liters with the ITUC
467.5 (2/0) mm
Cars with petrol engines of 2.0 l with automatic transmission and diesel engines with the ITUC
469 (2/0) mm
  1. To set the dynamic damper position SHRUS Birfield (BJ) in a straight line relative to the shaft, set the damper and secure the small clamp.
  2. Put grease in a protective cover tripoidnogo SHRUS (TJ) and set the cover on the hinge.
  3. Set the clamps cover SHRUS tripoidnogo type.
  4. Add the SHRUS Birfield much grease as it was wiped out during the inspection of the hinge.
  5. Install covers.
  6. Attach the protective cover SHRUS Birfield collars.
  1. Secure covers so that the length of the drive shaft correspond to the desired value.

To check the air pressure in the bag-type hinge tripoidnogo maintain the required distance between the clamps securing the protective cover or the length of the drive shaft when tightening the clamps. Nominal length drive shafts given in the table.
