Checking cylinder
Remove the cylinder head, timing belt, oil pump housing, flywheel, pistons and crankshaft.

Check the cylinder block to the lack of chips, corrosion, scale deposits and rust. Also, check for cracks and other damage. Replace the cylinder when it detects significant defects.
Using a straight edge and feeler gauge, check the mating plane distortion of the cylinder gasket. Before testing, make sure that the surface of the cylinder block is cleared from the remnants of old gasket and foreign particles (Fig. 2.21). The nominal value of 0.03 mm or less. Limit: 0.15 mm or less.

Measure the diameter of the cylinders using indicator-Nutromer in three zones at altitude, "A" and "B" (Fig. 2.22). If the roundness (oval) or a taper cylinder over the limit, or a mirror of the cylinder, there are scratches or signs of seizure (teaser), the cylinder block must be chiseled into the corresponding repair size and othoningovat. After repair the cylinder install pistons and piston rings corresponding repair size. The nominal diameter of the cylinder: 76,50-76,53 mm. Maximum allowable taper cylinder: 0.01 mm or less. If the perimeter of the cylinder in the upper part there is an influx of (ridge wear), remove it with a special tool. Available in four pistons repair (increase) in size. Oversize piston and the label: 0.25 mm - 0.25; 0.50 mm - 0.50; 0.75 mm - 0.75; 1.00 mm - 1.00. When repairs (boring and honingovke) cylinders in the repair size, calculate the diameter of the bore of the cylinder so that a repair provides a nominal clearance between the piston and the cylinder. Check that all the pistons of the repair size. The standard measurement of the diameter of the piston are made at a distance of 47 mm from the bottom of the piston. The clearance between the piston and the cylinder (set limit for new items): 0,025-0,045 mm.
