Removal, check and installation of the timing belt

Withdrawal
Loosen the bolts coolant pump pulley.
Loosen the bolt of the generator.
Remove the water pump pulley and alternator drive belt.
Remove the crankshaft pulley.

Remove the timing belt cover (Fig. 2.56).
Take the tensioner in the direction of the coolant pump and temporarily tighten the bolts to the tensioner is not returned back.
Remove the bolt of the camshaft sprocket.
Remove the camshaft sprocket.
Remove the timing belt.

NOTE
In the case of re-use of the timing belt should be applied in chalk on the back (non-working) surface of the belt an arrow indicating the direction of rotation (or the location of the crankshaft pulley) that during the installation of the belt not to confuse the direction of rotation (Fig. 2.57).

Unscrew the crankshaft sprocket. Remove the sprocket and the guide washer from the crankshaft.
Remove the belt tensioner timing.

Check sprockets, roller timing belt tensioner and idler roller
Check the camshaft sprocket, crankshaft sprocket, tensioner pulley Timing belt guide roller and the absence of excessive wear, cracks or damage.
Replace them if necessary.

Check smooth rotation of the roller tensioner timing belt

Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the roller tensioner timing belt and the guide roller and make sure no excessive backlash and unusual noises during the rotation (Fig. 2.58).
Replace the roller if necessary.
Replace the roller if traces of grease leaking from his bearing.
Check the belt for dirt or oil deposits. Replace the belt if necessary. Small pollution belt can be removed with a dry cloth or paper wiper. Do not use solvents for this purpose.

At engine major repairs or adjusting the belt tension, carefully inspect the belt. If you find any of the following defects, replace with a new belt (Fig. 2.59).

NOTE
Normal belt should have clearly pointed sides like cut with a knife surfaces.

Setting

Refit the washer and the crankshaft sprocket as shown in the figure (Fig. 2.60).
Note the orientation of parts during installation.
Tightening torque bolts crankshaft sprocket: 140-150 Nm.

Install the camshaft sprocket

Install the camshaft sprocket and tighten its mounting bolt to the specified torque (Fig. 2.61).
Tightening torque bolts camshaft sprocket: 80-100 Nm.
Install the guide pulley and tighten its mounting bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque bolts guide roller: 43-55 Nm.
Align the labels of asterisks of cranked and distributive shaft to the adjusting labels of the cylinder when the piston ?��1 is at TDC compression stroke.

Set the details of the timing belt tensioner in the following order: tensioner, spring tensioner and spacer. Temporarily tighten the bolt hinge tensioner. Temporarily tighten the tensioner adjustment bolt and washer (in the longitudinal opening bracket tensioner). Hook the lower end of the spring for the tab on the case of the oil pump, as shown in the figure (Fig. 2.62).
Take the tensioner pulley in the direction of the coolant pump, temporarily tighten the tensioner bolts.
Put the timing belt on the crankshaft sprocket.

Put the timing belt to the camshaft sprocket. After that, make sure that the working belt is tight. Then apply a force in the opposite direction of rotation (counterclockwise) to the camshaft sprocket to tension the belt is working, and make sure that all timing marks are aligned (Fig. 2.63).
Tighten the first adjusting bolt tensioner, then bolt hinge tensioner.
Tightening torque tensioner bolts: 20-27 Nm.
Turn the crankshaft one turn in the normal direction of rotation (clockwise) and re-align the label with the crankshaft timing mark (the cylinder ?��1 at TDC compression stroke).

Again, check the tension of the timing belt. Hand with lock tensioner and timing belt, then gently push the thumb (with a force of about 49 N) in a horizontal direction opposite the belt tensioner pulley (Fig. 2.64).
Make sure that the top of tooth timing belt is deflected by about 1/4 the width of the head of the adjusting bolt tensioner (with respect to the edge of the bolt head).
Install the timing belt cover.
Tightening torque cover mounting timing belt: 8-10 Nm.
Install the crankshaft pulley. Make sure the guide pin crankshaft sprocket walked into the small hole of the pulley shaft.
Tightening torque crankshaft pulley: 140-150 Nm.
Install the water pump pulley.

Install the alternator drive belt and adjust its tension (Fig. 2.65).
