Power Steering
Replacing the hydraulic fluid Hang out the front wheels of the car and set the car stands for safety. Disconnect the return hose from the tank of the hydraulic booster and close fitting tank stopper. Connect an additional hose to the return hose, and drain the fluid into a suitable container. Disconnect the high voltage from the ignition coil. For a complete draining of the working fluid to scroll through the crankshaft several jogging the starter at constant turning of the steering wheel left and right until it stops. Connect the return hose to a tank and fix its collar. Fill the tank of hydraulic fluid recommended amplifier. Recommended fluid: PSF-3. Fuel capacity: 0.75-0.8 l. Start the engine. Check for leaks working fluid from the hose connections, and then stop the engine. Fill a tank with the recommended fluid to the lower position of the filter tank. Remove air from the hydraulic power steering.
Removal of air from hydraulic power-assisted steering Fill the tank of hydraulic fluid recommended by the amplifier up to the mark "MAX". Hang out the front wheels. Disconnect the high voltage from the ignition coil. Scroll through the crankshaft several jogging the starter at constant turning of the steering wheel left and right until it stops five or six times for 15-20 seconds.
NOTE During removal of air must be constantly topped up with fluid and ensure that its level does not fall below the lower position of the filter. |
If venting to produce the engine is running, it will leak air and it falls to the working fluid. Therefore, remove the air from the hydraulic system only when the cranking of the engine starter. Connect the wires of a high voltage to the ignition coil, and then start the engine and let it run at idle. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock to the disappearance of air bubbles in the tank of the hydraulic system of the amplifier.
NOTE Do not hold the steering wheel to the end position (rotated all the way) greater than 10 s. |
Make sure that the hydraulic fluid is transparent, without turbidity, and its level in the reservoir is between the "MAX" and ?MIN? on the reservoir.
| Fig. 5.10. Driving test changes in the level of liquid in a tank of the hydraulic booster
|
Make a slight change in the liquid level in the tank at the left and right of the steering wheel (Fig. 5.10).
NOTE If the liquid level changes by more than 5 mm, it is necessary to make the removal of air from the hydraulic booster again. If the liquid level rises sharply after the engine stops, it means that the air from the hydraulic system is not completely removed. Incomplete removal of air from the power steering hydraulic system having extraneous rattling noises from the power steering pump and a fluid flow control valve, which reduces the life of the pump and other hydraulic components. |
Pressure check power steering pump
| Fig. 5.11. The circuit connecting the gauge to check the pressure of the power steering pump
|
Disconnect the pressure hose from the power steering pump. Connect special tools between the pressure hose and the power steering pump, as shown in Figure 5.11. Remove air from the hydraulic power steering. Then, start the engine and the vehicle is stationary, turn the steering wheel several times to the liquid temperature rose to about 50 ? C. Set the motor 1000 min -1. Close the shut-off valve on the measuring gauge, measure the supply pressure of the power steering pump and check its compliance with the nominal value. The pressure of the pump (nominal value): 7500-8200 kPa.
ATTENTION Shut-off valve on the measuring gauge should not remain closed for more than 10 seconds. |
Remove the special tools, connect the discharge hose and tighten the hose attachment to the specified torque 55-65 Nm. Remove air from the hydraulic power steering.
