Removal, check and installation of the steering column shaft
Withdrawal

NOTE On models without the driver's airbag cover, remove the horn switch. |
Remove the self-locking nut on the steering wheel (Fig. 5.15).
Put the mark on the relative position of the steering shaft and the steering wheel, then remove the steering wheel with a special tool (Fig. 5.16).

Disconnect from the steering column combination switch (Fig. 5.18).

Remove the three screws, as shown in Figure 5.19, then remove the steering column combination switch assembly.

Remove the four screws that secure, as shown in Figure 5.20, and remove the bottom cover of the instrument panel.

Remove the five screws securing the steering column assembly and the propeller shaft steering system, shown in Figure 5.21.

Remove the bolts and nuts, then remove the steering column and steering shaft assembly (Fig. 5.22).
Check Check the steering shaft for deformation and damage. Check connectors for the absence of excessive play, damage and seizure (smooth movement). Check bearings universal joints steering for wear and damage.
Setting Installation is the reverse order of removal.
