Technical condition (Check the engine speed at idle)



NOTE
Before checking the idle speed Check the spark plugs, injectors, idle speed control, the engine compression.

Test conditions:
- The coolant temperature must be within the range 80-85 ?� C;
- Lighting, engine cooling fan and all accessories are turned off;
- Set the gearshift lever to neutral (on vehicles with automatic transmission, set the selector lever to position "P" or ?�N?�);
- Set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to the straight-ahead position (only for vehicles with power steering).
Attach the tachometer reference to the primary winding of the ignition coil (refer to the user manual tachometer) or connect the device to the HI-SCAN electrical data link connector.
Start the engine and let it run at idle.
Increase the engine speed to 2000-3000 min -1 for more than 5 seconds, then run the engine at idle speed for 2 minutes.
Check the tachometer engine speed to idle
Engine speed at idle speed should correspond to the values given in Table 2.16 "Test Data".
