Ignition system

Sensor, ignition engine FE DOHC

Engine FE DOHC

Sensor, ignition engine FE DOHC consists of a photodiode and a disc with slots installed in the ignition distributor. The photodiode receives light from the LED passing through the slits 116 (the crank angle) and one slot (TDC sensor cylinder ?1) on a rotating disk.

This type of ignition distributor is not equipped with devices or vacuum centrifugal timing correction. These functions are performed by signals from the crankshaft position sensor and the top dead center of the cylinder ?1. To optimize the ignition timing, these signals are processed by the control unit PCM.

High-voltage wires connect the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
The spark plug is used to transmit high voltage, generated in the ignition coil to the electrodes in the combustion chamber where this current produces a spark to ignite the mixture toplivnovozdushnoy.

Engine T8 DOHC

In the electronic ignition system of the engine T8 DOHC without the ignition distributor ignition timing is determined and set the engine control unit based on signals from various sensors and switches. The engine control unit alters the ignition timing according to engine speed, the amount of supplied air, coolant temperature and other conditions.

The engine control unit sends a signal corresponding to the ignition coil, which generates a high voltage and transmits the current spark plug.

The contactless ignition system ignition pulse is applied once on two spark plugs, one on the compression stroke, one on the exhaust stroke - the ignition spark on the exhaust stroke has no value on the engine and therefore wasted. Cylinders are grouped according to the order of cylinders. Each coil actually consists of 2 separate high-voltage windings that is fed into the spark two cylinders each (one number to the cylinders 1 and 4 and another number to the cylinders 2 and 3).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. In the engine two ignition coils are mounted on top of the cylinder head cover.
2. The ignition timing sensor mounted on the rear side of the outlet camshaft.
