The camshafts and the rocker

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove a hose connecting the air filter and cylinder head cover.
4. Remove the air filter.
5. Remove casings of a gear belt.
6. Remove the cylinder head cover and the steering angle sensor.

7. Remove the bolts and remove the camshaft pulleys.

8. Remove the screws and the bearing caps, camshafts, rocker arms and jacks of backlashes.

Check

Rocker

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the roller.

2. Check the video. Replace it has dents, damage or evidence of seizure.
3. Check the operating end of the rocker. If the end of the rod is worn or riveted, replace the valve.

Camshafts

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check the neck of camshafts in the absence of uneven wear, cracks or damage.
2. Check the contours of cams of camshafts for wear or damage. At two points, measure the height of each cam camshaft.

  • The nominal height of the cams of the camshaft operating inlet valves: 35.493 mm
  • The nominal height of the camshaft operating final valves vehicles INC: 35.317 mm
  • The nominal height of the camshaft operating final valves cars with automatic transmission: 35.204 mm
  • Minimum permissible height of the cams of the camshaft operating inlet valves: 34.993 mm
  • Minimum permissible height of the camshaft operating final valves vehicles INC: 34.817 mm
  • Minimum permissible height of the camshaft operating final valves cars with automatic transmission: 34.704 mm

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the camshafts on the cylinder head.
  1. Before installation, apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to all sliding surfaces of camshafts.
  2. A camshaft operating the inlet valves, a groove on the back of the drive for the rotation angle sensor.

2. Install the camshaft bearing caps. Check the identification label defining camshafts intake or exhaust valves.

  • L - camshaft operating inlet valves.
  • R - the camshaft operating final valves.

3. Make sure that the camshaft rotates easily by hand. After checking, remove the bearing caps and camshafts, and then set the rocker.

4. Make sure that the positioning pins on the end of the camshaft pulley side facing upwards.

5. In the sequence shown in the figure in two or three stages tighten bolts of covers of bearings torque.

Tighten bolts evenly covers.
Torque: 19-21 N ??? m

6. Use the special tools to install the oil seal camshaft and guide (09221-21000,09221-21100), press in the oil seal camshaft. Before pressing Apply engine oil seal the outer surface of the seal. Insert the oil seal on the front end of the camshaft and install it by striking a hammer on the device to complete the installation.

7. Install the camshaft pulley and fix its bolt.

Torque: 80-100 N ??? m

8. Install the cylinder head cover. Apply sealant to the locations shown in the figure.

Tightening torques

  • Bolts cylinder head cover: 8-10 N ??? m
  • The central screws cylinder head cover: 4-5 N ??? m

Sealant

  • Locations A: ?10 or equivalent
  • In place: ?1212 D or equivalent

Bolt length x diameter:

  • 25 x 6 mm;
  • 20 x 6 mm;
  • 15 x 6 mm.

9. Replace the spark plugs, install the ignition coil, connect, and then set the center cover.

10. Place the top of the dowel pin of the camshaft pulley control intake valves.

11. Align camshaft with the slot in the camshaft (intake manifold side) and secure the sensor bolts.

Sensor camshaft rotation angle can be set even when the positioning pin is located on the opposite side, however, will be disrupted fuel injection system and ignition timing.

12. Install the steering angle sensor of the camshaft on the cylinder head.
