Ignition system components

The mechanical ignition distributor replaced by an electronic control unit with no moving parts.

The system uses two ignition coils, on the engine of the spark plugs 2 and 4 cylinders. Coil resistance is identical for the two ignition coils. Ignition coils are maintenance-free and, if defects are subject to replacement.

High-voltage wires connect the ignition coil to the spark plugs. They perform the functions are basically the same as in a conventional ignition system. Because of their shorter length increases the energy transferred to the spark plugs.

The spark plug is used to transfer high voltage, generated in the ignition coil to the electrodes in the combustion chamber, wherein the current produces a spark for igniting air-fuel mixture.
