Ignition system components
The mechanical ignition distributor replaced by an electronic control unit with no moving parts.
The system uses two ignition coils, on the engine of the spark plugs 2 and 4 cylinders. Coil resistance is identical for the two ignition coils. Ignition coils are maintenance-free and, if defects are subject to replacement.
| High-voltage wires connect the ignition coil to the spark plugs. They perform the functions are basically the same as in a conventional ignition system. Because of their shorter length increases the energy transferred to the spark plugs. |
The spark plug is used to transfer high voltage, generated in the ignition coil to the electrodes in the combustion chamber, wherein the current produces a spark for igniting air-fuel mixture.
