Carburetor

Refitting
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect from the carburettor accelerator cable and cable cruise control (if available).
Disconnect from the carburettor fuel hose.
Disconnect from the carburettor connectors.
Disconnect a cable choke (in models with manual choke).
Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the carburettor, preliminary having marked their positions.
Remove the nuts and lift the carburetor so that you can disconnect the heater air damper (only in models with automatic choke), then remove the carburetor from the intake manifold.
Screwdriver, remove the intake manifold gasket or seal.
Installation is spent to sequences, return to removal, taking into account the following.
Fill the gasoline carburetor float chamber, thus facilitating engine start and reduce the load on the battery.
Replace the gaskets on both sides of the spacer.

Check the fuel level in the float chamber through the window
Fig. 6.4. Check the fuel level in the float chamber through the window

After installation, start up the engine, check for fuel leaks and make sure that the fuel level in the float chamber precisely matches the label on the viewing window (Fig. 6.4). If the fuel level does not match the label, adjust the carburetor.
Check the engine speed of the engine at idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases.

Repair and adjustment of the carburetor

A WARNING
Complete carburetor repair - a complex operation that requires certain skills. Inexperienced motorists should contact the service or body shop.
Due to the changes made by the manufacturer in the construction of some elements of the repaired unit may differ from the carburetor installed on your. Nevertheless, the motorist who has little experience with the carburetor repair, able to identify these differences and to repair.

Dismantling
Before you start, find out the cost and availability of spare parts for sale. It may be more appropriate to purchase new carburetor than repair deliberately worn unit.
Clean the outside of the carburetor solvent and dry it. Install the carburetor on a clean, well-lit work desk. Prepare a large number of small vessels and markers.

Carefully inspect the throttle actuator rod and damper and the accelerating pump. Sketch or mark them if they are different from those shown in Fig. 6.5.
Disconnect the accelerator pump lever on the throttle rods. Unhook the spring lever.
Disconnect the hose pneumatic actuation of the starting device from the union on the throttle body.
Separate pusher system fast idle lever on the drive shaft of the air damper.
Remove the eight screws fastening the choke body to the body of the carburetor. The length of the screws is different, so you need to mark their location.
Lift the choke body, removing the side of the wire. Leave the gasket in place. The piston acceleration pump can be removed together with the body.
Clean the float chamber and remove the fuel and air jets.
Remove from the housing the choke axis of the float, remove the float needle valve and then unscrew the needle valve seat.

If necessary, remove the throttle aperture of the secondary chamber and the choke together with brackets. The diaphragm drive throttle secondary chamber can be disassembled for inspection only as spare parts to it can not be found (Fig. 6.7).
If you want to separate the throttle body from the body of the carburetor, keep in mind that one of the screws located on the bottom next to the shutter of the secondary chamber.
Remove the screw quality idle mixture, noting the number of turns, which he was screwed to the screw subsequently set about its place.
Cleaning and inspection
Rinse all parts with solvent and blow compressed air. In the absence of the compressor is possible to use compressed air from a cylinder. It is not allowed to clean the nozzles and wire channels.
Do not immerse into the solvent off valve idling diaphragm actuators and other elements of rubber or plastics, since they can harden, swell or take an irregular shape.
Make sure that all fuel channels, jets, and other calibrated elements no dirt and burrs.
Check for damage on the upper and lower surfaces of the body of the air damper, the carburettor and throttle body. Make sure that they are no remains of the gaskets.
Visually inspect for wear and roundness of holes for arms drive and plastic sleeve, replace worn out parts.
Check the cleanliness and wear of the float needle valve and seat of the float, replace the parts with a noticeable deep development and scratches.
Check the strain on the float, the float arm and the axis, straighten deformed parts by podgibaniem, if necessary, replace them.
Check the wear of the rubber cap of the accelerating pump and the presence of cracks on it.
Check the degree of development of the quality of adjustment screw idle mixture (the presence of burrs and ring output).
Check the wear plate and the choke degree of deformation of the thrust. With a strong deformation of the bend traction.

Diaphragm pneumatic actuator
Fig. 6.8. Diaphragm pneumatic actuator: 1 - cover and screws; 2 - the spring and the diaphragm;
3 - lever throttle

Check the tightness of the diaphragm pneumatic actuator air damper and replace it if necessary (Fig. 6.8).
Check whether freely rotates choke.

Sight glass case of the carburettor
Fig. 6.9. Sight glass case of the carburettor 1 - pad, pad, glass and rubber gasket; 2 - the screw

If necessary, remove the screws, remove and clean the elements of the viewing window the carburettor (fig. 6.9).
Check the windings of the solenoid valve by connecting the output to the positive pole of the battery, and the case with the "weight" of the car. When current flows through the coil of the valve stem must be retracted into the housing. If it does not, replace the valve.

Check the automatic thermo-opening the choke
Fig. 6.10. Check the automatic thermo-opening the choke: A - air inlet; B - air outlet

The level of vacuum in the diaphragm pneumatic actuator of the automatic opening of the air damper is controlled by a thermostatic valve, which is screwed into the body of the intake manifold. The valve must not leak air at a temperature below 19 ? C, and must be completely opened at temperatures above 19 ? C. Temperature variation operation ? 3 ? C. If you wish to check if the valve by unscrewing it (Fig. 6.10).
Assembly
The assembly is carried out in sequence, return dismantling taking into account the following.
Replace all gaskets.
Turn the adjustment screw quality mix of idling at the same RPM, which was defined when reversing.
In the process of assembling all of the following adjustments.
Adjusting the position of the float on the body of the choke
Before setting the choke body is necessary to measure the distance between the bottom surface of the float and the plane of the body (without pads) and adjust the position of the float. To do this, follow these steps:

Measurement and adjustment of the float (the body upside down)
Fig. 6.11. Measurement and adjustment of the float (the body upside down): 1 - the tongue of the float; 2 - stop; N - gap

- Turn the plane of the body up to the float down under its own weight, and measure the gap between the float and the plane of the body. Compare the measured value (size H in Fig. 6.11) to the desired value and, if necessary, bend the tab of the float;

Measurement and adjustment of the float (the body in the operating position)
Fig. 6.12. Measurement and adjustment of the float (the body in the operating position):
L - clearance

- Turn the body float down to float down under its own weight, and measure the distance between the bottom surface of the float and the plane of the body. If the measured value (size L on Fig. 6.12) is not correct, adjust the stop podgibaniem float.
Adjusting the gap opening the choke device

Using a vacuum pump to check the gap opening the choke device
Fig. 6.13. Using a vacuum pump to check the gap opening the choke device

Apply a vacuum of about 400 mm Hg. Art. a diaphragm vacuum tube (Fig. 6.13).

Location traction (1) of the device to open the choke
Fig. 6.14. Location traction (1) of the device to open the choke

Close the choke a little push, and measure the gap. Nominal clearance of (3,94 ? 0,16) mm. If necessary, adjust the gap bend the rod (Fig. 6.14).
Adjusting the gap aperture starting device

Location traction (1) of the diaphragm of the starting device
Fig. 6.15. Location traction (1) of the diaphragm of the starting device

The test is performed in the same way as for opening the damper device, but the magnitude of the gap to be 1.94 + 0.25 mm. If necessary, adjust the gap bend the rod (Fig. 6.15).
Fast idle speed

Location rod (1) drives the fast idle speed
Fig. 6.16. Location rod (1) drives the fast idle speed

Close the choke and shank drill or circular gauge to measure the gap between the flap and the wall of the primary chamber of the diffuser. The nominal value given in the technical data. If necessary, adjust the gap podgibaniem traction drive fast idle speed (Fig. 6.16).
Adjusting the throttle lever

Location of the lever (1) the throttle
Fig. 6.17. Location of the lever (1) the throttle

Check the throttle opening of the secondary chamber. It should be opened only after the throttle valve opening of the primary chamber at 45 ?, this angle of rotation when the gap between the throttle valve and the wall of the primary chamber of (6,7 ? 0,5) mm. With a smaller turning damper primary chamber free wheeling valve secondary chamber should not be felt. Also, make sure that the damper is a secondary camera rotates freely at full throttle primary chamber. If necessary, adjust by podgibaniem valve actuator lever (Fig. 6.17).

A WARNING
Since the opening of the valve of the secondary chamber is designed for a pneumatic drive, you must manually manage it.

Adjusting the amount of
and quality-fuel ratio at idle
Install the carburetor, warm up the engine and adjust the speed of the crankshaft of the engine idling and the quality of the mixture. After the adjustment screws on the new protective cap.
