Rear Defrost



Small gaps of the heating elements of the rear screen can be removed without removing the rear window.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the fuse of the heater, switch, relay and connecting wires.
2. Wrap aluminum foil voltmeter probes. Tap the plus-probe voltmeter positive side of the grille.
3. A negative probe, check the voltage at the center of each of the heating elements. If the voltage is 5 volts, then the heating element in order. If the voltage is high (10-12 V), it means element has a gap between the middle and the positive side. If the voltage is 0 V, the element has a gap between the middle and the negative side.
4. To find the break plus-touch probe voltmeter positive terminal of the heater. Squeeze the negative probe to the positive end of the heating element and carry the probe to the negative side of the cell. The point at which the supply voltage, is the site of the break.

Repairs

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Use a special repair kit, which includes a conductive structure.
2. Apply a strip of conductive composition in place of rupture. Wait 24 hours before using the heater.
