Check power steering fluid level

Tube-steering reservoir has a dipstick with scale. Check fluid level in a tank of the hydraulic booster should be performed as often as the check engine oil level.

SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Open the tank cap and pull it together with the probe.

When working fluid temperature of about + 20 ?° C, the level should be between the two marks on the dipstick
Fig. 7.15. When working fluid temperature of about + 20 ? C, the level should be between the two marks on the dipstick

2. The power steering fluid level (at an air temperature of about +20 ? C) must be between the ?MIN? and ?MAX? mark on the dipstick (Fig. 7.15).
3. If necessary, add hydraulic fluid to the steering mechanism (Mercedes-Benz 000 969 88 03). Use only new fluid, because even minimal contamination may cause a malfunction of hydraulic drive.
4. Replace the plug with the probe and wrap it.
5. In conclusion, bleed the power steering system, turning a few times a steering wheel from lock to lock with the engine running.
